Juniper Golf Club

Nice winter day but pace was slow due to a 5-some and a young child who played the whole course, making for slow play - the players ahead never offered us to play through!

A bit chilly with some wind, but still a great day for winter golf (thank goodness for heated gloves).

Juniper is one of the best public courses I’ve ever played. Always fun and cheap. Thanks for the winter play opportunity! - Mike D.

What a pleasant surprise Juniper was. Within 15 minutes of landing at the nearby airport, I was on the first tee enjoying a really nice course in very good condition. When you're coming to Bend for a golf trip, this is a perfect starting or ending point thanks to its convenient location near the airport. It's probably better as a kickoff point, since it's slightly easier and less dynamic than many of the high-end resort courses you've likely come to play (Tetherow, Sunriver, Juniper Preserve).

Golf carts w/o tees, water, or towels. Tee markers are colored only on the top surface. Often can't see color from the cart path, so you're sometimes walking to the wrong tee box. No course Marshall, so the pace of play is not supervised. The course was in good shape, with sharp-cut holes, fast greens, and very few bare spots or unwatered areas. Carts are acceptable w/o GPS @ $20/person other area courses have GPS to the pin.

Showed up at the course, gave my name and said it was a TeeOff tee time. The guy asked how many we were, and though I had booked a foursome we were only two.

He asked if we wished range balls and I agreed.

He then said the price was $188.00.

I replied it was a prepaid time. He looked incredulous. I then went back to my car to get my phone to show him.

When confronted with the email He relented.

I paid the new amount while listening to a litany of excuses as to why he didn't have our prepaid time.

He didn't give us range balls, so I figured you got them at the range. Nope. Back to the clubhouse where I noticed the brakes on the cart barely worked.

Finally after two trips to the car, three trips to the clubhouse, and exchanging carts we took our large bucket to the range for a now abbreviated practice session.

Maybe it was his first day.

My only complaint is that you cannot book a single through the golf now software. Not only on this course but now on a lot of courses. Why am I paying extra for golf pass membership if I can't book a single. This is very frustrating, I probably will not renew my golf pass membership.

Great for late January but chilly (30 degrees at the finish) but a fun time with friends and paired with a good guy.
