Easily the best course at Eagle Crest
I have played this course 10+ times and it is just as fun every single time. It is always in great condition, absolutely stunning surroundings, and very fun and challenging. I am very surprised that this course is rated as low as it is. As a long driver I have never played a course that allows you to give the driver some gas better than this one. The holes are designed not to force you to put the ball in the fairway or you are in water, but allows the player to go out there and play golf and have fun without feeling like the course designer wants you to suffer. The Ridge offers 18 enjoyable holes that are fair but challenging and don't force you to play the hole the way the course designer wants you to. This course may not be enough to go out of your way to experience but if you are in the area you can't afford to miss this gem.
Eagle Crest
Walked the Blacks (6549/71.7/129) in slightly less than 4.5 hours on their standard weekend walking rate of $49. 50 degrees, partly cloudy and it got windier and windier as the round progressed. We had the 1st tee time this a.m. It was nice to play on greens with no fresh ball marks for once. Nice course layout that meanders through upper middle class homes partially hidden by trees. Not overly tight, no gimmicks, very good condition overall. The greens were quick, firm & rolled nice. We were told the ball breaks away from the mountain toward the river, and that was pretty consistent all throughout the round. The course had repaired & patched 2 greens with newer sod that was not ready to be putted on yet, but the pin positions on those holes did not make the repaired areas an issue. The fairways and rough were lush. You needed to keep it in the short grass, because the rough was THICK, tough to advance even shorter irons very far out of the primary rough. The sand traps were well maintained with nice, thick sand. They had a nice practice facility complete with range, chipping green and putting green. The customer service from the pro shop to the starter to their little grill was excellent. I enjoyed the course, it was in excellent condition. However, I thought $49 to walk was a little high all things considered. I would definitely like to play here again, but would look for a discounted deal.
Interesting course to play
Elevation changes, blind shots and challenging greens. Great scenery. I had fun playing this course. Challenging but not scary.
Fun course
Fun course with enough challenge to keep your interest. Course was in excellent shape. The greens had been recently aerated, but this was known before booking. Would like to play the course again with greens at their normal speed and break....
Eagle Crest Ridge
When signing up and confirming reservation, I was not notified of the plugging and sanding of the greens. would have played elsewhere if known
nice course.
The condition was good. It was dry, but we are in a drought so you have to expect that. This is the second time I have played this course. It has nice views., good course marshals and interesting set up. Some of the shorter holes are some of the toughest. Greens a bit bumpy.
Fun round of golf
3 1/2 hours. Fun a little to windy. As to be expected this time of year though.
golfer
good condition for this time of year, greens roll good,
fairways mowed down and fairly smoooth, however should have had the plugs of the tee boxes picked up, messy
Enjoyable Course
Staff was very friendly. 2nd tee time of the morning, got paired with a couple who were local members. I decided to ride in order to play faster. Although the front nine was more enjoyable than the back nine, course has some interesting challenges. The juniper trees caused me alot of issues as I seemed to always land behind one.
Course has chipping/pitching green and separate putting green. Also has a range.
Overall I enjoyed my day and I would play again.
Enjoyable
For a very hot day it was great to see the course in such lush green condition. Greens were quick and upfront pins made it difficult. The blue tees play relatively short so for the more advanced player I would suggest the black tees. Great fun
Superb October Day
I have played The Ridge course at Eagle Crest for many years and this particular day was perhaps the finest ever in terms of course condition and weather. Absolutely spectacular in every way. If my entire round of play had only matched I'd have guessed I died and was in the afterlife.
Excellent condition
This course is great. Challenging but fun. Pace was good. Great mountain views
Too in Love with itself
As with many central Oregon courses this course is fairly in love with itself when it comes to pricing its t times. Thank you Golf now for getting me a reasonably price t time. Also an overall opinion. All golf courses should provide pull or walking carts for free. If people wish to walk then make it more amenable.
Great score = Great review
Shot one of my best rounds here so my review might be biased. The greens were not lightning fast which helped my score.
Cheap, but not worth it.
The course and resort are well known and I have played there many times. For whatever reason, the golf staff has really gone downhill. During play, the front desk guys were trying to get a round in and hit into us. We were behind players with a toddler who were behind others. We waited on every tee box. Then another attendant drove straight down our fairway as we were addressing our tee shots. Needless to say, we finished in the dark and were less than impressed by the staff and fuzzy greens. Employees at upscale resorts would be fired for this behavior.
Definitely worth a visit!
It was a wise decision for my wife and I to head for Redmond for a couple days - I played two courses and loved them both. The Ridge course was a lot of fun - I joined two gentlemen from the area and they helped me with their course knowledge. A great variety of holes for all levels. I will play the course again. It was in excellent shape.
Tricky greens
Great conditions made for good play but those greens did us in. Very hard to read and very even. Staff and volunteers were welcoming. Would recommend to friends, worth the drive from Bend.
great place
Friendly regulsrs that play there not sure if tourist understand slow play ethics of letting faster players play through. Could use better marsheling on weekends. Always have great time playing. Best course conditions in bend and redmond. Highly recomend. If you have young beginners challenge course is for you
