South Shore Golf Course

Extremely poor condition if it’s to succeed they need to get its act together. Sorry but true

Unfortunately, two of the greens on the back nine were vandalized and we had to putt to temporary pins. That’s not the course‘s fault, though. Also, some of the tee boxes were a bit muddy. Other than that, the course was in good shape. We really liked the layout of the course, especially the ninth and 18th holes.

The course has a good layout for a novice golfer. Some shorter holes and fewer hazards than more challenging courses.

The tee boxes are very bad. No grass and sand for the most part. The greens are in great shape except for #12 & #14 which are undergoing major repair with the flag in the middle of the fairway.

Save your money and go play LaTourette up the road until next season.

Nice course, good layout, but unfortunately two of the greens on the back 9 were seriously damaged by vandals.

This is straight highway robbery: holes 12 and 14 had a make shift green in the rough, completely unplayable. Also, the tee boxes are like playing in sand, e.g. holes 17 and 18 are impossible to tee off properly. I get that this is not entirely the fault of the staff, but there is absolutely no remit in asking for full green fee. This is a borderline sham.

My 2nd review this year. They lost all their tee boxes especially the whites. They are just dirt and sand. Much early in the year around April, they were beautiful. The greens were barely cut running very slow. There’s no divot mix/sand in the carts so there’s divots all over the fairways. Sand in bunkers are a joke, like fine clay. Only played here today because of a HOT DEAL which still costs $71 each w cart. Greens on Holes 12 & 14 were closed off, temp green short of 12th green was a joke. Not even mowed down grass. They just put a hole with a flag about 30 yards short of the green in the fairway. Will not play here again until they fix the tee boxes. Until then it’s off to Jersey I go.

You would be crazy to play here at any price.

Tee boxes were bare and greens were full of sand. Cart paths are full of potholes. I think under the new course management, that by next spring, the course will be in better shape. All and all, would not recommend this course to avid golfers at this time. Not good value for the $70 plus dollar price.

I’m unsure how this ownership is allowed to operate this way as a city course. The course is unplayable and they continue to charge full green fees. The tee boxes are dirt patches, unless it rained in the previous 3 days / then you’ll be planting your feet in mud. The greens are completely unplayable. They are full of sand! They absolutely should not be charging full green fees for this sorry excuse of a golf course. The city should get involved - this is a complete ripoff and borderline fraud.

Worst it’s ever been. Read below & it’s somehow worse than it sounds. Green fees anything over $20 is unacceptable.

Don’t waste your money terrible condition from all tees to greens. Think this is my first bad review.

Overall South Shore is a nice course but clearly needs some work on their tee boxes and several greens. I know it’s under new ownership so lets hope they make some improvements or at least lower their rates.
