Red/White at Arrowhead Golf Course

Fairways and greens are the worst I’ve played in 3 years. Thought I would give course another chance. Big mistake.

Okay, over 15 years and I should not have waited that long. Challenges demanding strong mid irons and consideration of approach. After playing several courses that are just long and straight with a splattering of water to create the perception of variability, playing Arrowhead was a welcome refresher with nice elevation variations, appropriate doglegs and thought provoking water hazards. Staff was friendly and accommodating as my wife and I played as a twosome, and there were others which might have contributed to the slightly slower play. But it was a nice day. Well done and will return.

The course was in good condition. Tees and fairways had some bare spot patches. The course had some tree damage due to several high storms this past Winter and

Spring..

The layout of the course is good. There are 4-5 challenging holes (Holes 15, 16 and 17 will put you in your place based upon how you are playing). Greens are mostly flat with little slope.

Overall, a good value and a decent course to play.

Fun test of golf. Must work your way around the course . Love 16and 17 holes most memorable holes . Must hit good golf shots here.

Don’t pay too much mind to the reviews about poor greens and awful fairways.

Arrowhead is 5 min from my house and I’ve played weekly for years.

Last two years, they suffered with all kinds of havoc (kids pouring bleach to kill the greens.)

Now, after a long shut Down for the virus, and an uptick in people free to golf and pay for some much needed tlc, the course has bounced back.

It’s never going to be a “private club” level course, but it is always fun, challenging, and right for the price.

Shame you can book on this app, but pick up the phone like an adult and call them.

Played at 3pm on Sunday course was empty 31/2 hour round

Fun course with good layout. Tees are o k but i found too any fairways to be consisted of too much cut crabgrass.Mind you I'm struggling right now with my long irons so that is my excuse. the greens are OK but as the round progressed i realized that their wasn't any undulations on any of them and it seemed like I was playing on the same green on every hole but with a different pin placement, which i didn't mind because my putting stinks also. I'm not a big fan of the 17th hole but i am looking forward to playing all the other holes again soon..

20 yrs ago Arrowhead was one of the best maintained public courses in the area and we played weekly. Today the course was in horrible condition. Some tees esp the womens tees cant be distinguished from the rough. Most of the fairways are burnt out and almost all crabgrass and in dire need of cutting. Sandtraps filled with water or being overgrown by crabgrass. Most of the greens have huge patches of burnt out grass and they filled them with something resembling a rubber or asphalt like material. Some greens are 25% to almoast 50% like this. We wont be playing again

The grass Wasn’t MOW there is no difference between FairwAy and Ruff lot of fungus all over the greens lotta branches and trees all over the course looks like nobody’s taking care of the course much at all but it’s a shame because it’s an awesome course

Greens are burned up rough bumpy tee boxes have crab grass fair ways some not cut but for what we payed was worth it

Some of the greens where chewed up - had to move ball to get a clear putt.

With all the rain and some bad luck Arrowhead facing thought times. Hopefully the old gal will make a comeback.

Great condition in Putting Greens but that is all. Tee boxes and Fairways are all covered by crab grass 60%, mud 30%, weeds 5%, and others. This course is not even worth for $5 and I'll nervergo back there even for Free. They'd better to shut down the course and change it into corn filed....

This was the worst shape I have ever seen this course. They clearly aren't maintaining it.

Crab grass on tee boxes and the fairways were all crab grass. It was terrible.

Should change the name of the course to crabgrass hills. I never saw this much crabgrass on any course I’ve played. Tee boxes not any different than rest of so called fairway. Tee boxes not mowed and some not level. Cost of round not worth the experience. Too many much nicer courses not that much farther away.

Horrible horrible horrible. That's the only way to describe the condition of this course. Don't waste a beautiful day at this place as it has been badly neglected. I played here years ago and it was one of the nicest in SE Pennsylvania, but not anymore. The greens are burned out and the worst I've ever played. The fairways are almost completely crabgrass and in need of maintenance, and the rough is shin deep in most places. Dissapointment doesn't adequately describe the feeling you get playing here. So much potential, but so poorly maintained.

When you show up at noon on a Sunday and only 3 other cars are in the lot I knew something was wrong. The course looks like it doesn't have a groundskeeper. Over grow grass in fairway on some holes. Greens were so bumpy and patchy. Just poor maintenance all over. Left after 7 holes
