Boone Golf Club

Very nice golf club, facility, and excellent course. Immaculate tee boxes, fairways, and greens. I live in Charlotte, NC and chose to try Boone Golf Club to get away from the heat and humidity here. I only rated the weather as good instead of excellent because of a brief 45 minute delay in our round due to a rain shower. Otherwise it only got to 78 degrees in Boone. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was nice, with reasonable food and beverage pricing, and the beer was ice cold! Enjoyed our round immensely, and will return to play again

This course has great views and also great time to play in the summer 75 degrees

For either the house price of $54 (18 riding) or the GolfNow HOT rate we found for $25 at 1pm this is a phenomenal course. All staff were super friendly, including the bearded guy irrigating the greens (made us laugh several times and was very respectful for our play), the course played and looked magnificent, and even the other out of town players we met and ended up playing with all were nice (must be the intoxicating aroma of that awesome NC mountain air). WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK HERE and it's at the top of our all-time favorite courses that my cousin and I have played in all NC, SC, TN & GA! Thanks Boone Golf Club!

We didn't eat or drink anything but we did notice how friendly and clean that area was...even saw and was envious of other golfers taking advantage of the outdoor sitting area.

Excellent condition and extremely helpful staff. I brought 3 members of my extended family with various skill levels and all thoroughly enjoyed the round. The early tee time meant we complete the round while the temperature was still in the low 80's while the Piedmont area was passing through the high 90's. We will play again before the week is out.

WONDERFUL DAY OF GOLF WITH A FRIEND AND MET 2 OTHER MEN AND PAIRED UP AND HAD A FUN DAY ON A "BEAUTIFUL" COURSE WITH HUGE GREENS AND PLUSH FAIRWAYS AND FRIENDLY SERVICE FROM BEGINNING TO END. BOONE COUNTRY CLUB IS VERY SCENIC AND CLOSE TO A LOT OF GOOD SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS AFTER THE ROUND AND HAS A VERY GOOD RESTAURANT AS WELL!

The greens were very good, great condition, but tricky. Will recommend the course to anyone visiting Boon.

Played this course before, we go when we are in Boone. The course was in great condition as usual. After 7 holes there was a downpour for about 15 min. and we were back on the course after a 30 min delay, and it still played just fine. can't wait to go back.

Friendly and very nice facility course was in great condition greens were tough to read but that wasn't a fault of the greens

I've been playing BGC for many years and will say that this years early conditions are excellent despite some heavy rains of recent. Its convenient location, excellent conditions and "fair but challenging" layout make it very popular amongst the locals. So, book early if you are coming in from out of town. The most challenging aspect of the course can be the weather due to drastic weather changes. Today we started in the rain/fog with wet conditions. By afternoon it was sunny with wind making conditions a little bit faster putting a premium on approach shots. In short, this great well designed mountain tract is fair, but can challenge all aspects of your game and players of all levels...which is a mark of a great course.

I booked a tee time for in the afternoon at a reduced at. After being on the course, it would have been worth to play paying full price. The course was in great shape and the greens were fantastic.

They just aerated the greens a week ago so i figured giving it a week before playing would be somewhat smoothed back over. boy was i wrong...some of the worst greens i have played on. i lost about 8 strokes off my score due to the bumpiness of the greens. Never knew where your ball was going once you putted. Fairways...were immaculate. Actually had green grass to hit off of and were in great shape.

The value...$22 for 18 and ride....is a steal for this course. Im glad i didnt pay full price for the shape the greens were in.

Pace of play....this is by far the most critical review i have. Tee times were at 230....started right at 230. By hole 3, we were stopped. Walkers....then another group of 4 walking, then another in front of them, then another. Took us almost 6 hrs to play and we barely just finished the round. What gets me so aggravated is rangers would ride around and see all the people riding backed up every hole for the ones walking. 3 people riding can play faster than 2 walking, and especially 4 walking. Did any let us pass...no....did the rangers help push the pace along...no. If you allow walkers to play, it needs to be after 3pm.

This course was in awesome shape. As per usual in the mountains, wind was a factor in addition to the fast greens. Some bunkers were still covered for some odd reason. The pace was agonizingly slow. Pace picked up on back 9 but still took 5+ hours to play. But again, the course was in great shape and the pre-paid deal we got was totally worth it.

This course was in GREAT condition. It was beautiful, except for the WIND--crazy wind! Fast greens, and the fairways weren't mowed too close, so it made it easier to get under the ball. More annoying than the wind was that they put us ( a twosome) behind a foursome, 3 of which were WALKERS--on a SATURDAY. What were they thinking letting 3 walkers go out on a weekend???? Pace was S L O W. Annoyingly slow...and they wouldn't let us play through. But again, course was beautiful and the pre-paid deal we got was totally worth it. We didn't eat there, but the food on the menu was expensive, even for a golf course. Club sandwich was $10. Eat before you go!

Course is pretty much perfect right now. Greens are hard and fast making Boone GC play as a great challenge. Beautiful fall weather also makes for great rounds at the end of the year.

The greens were fast but true. The staff was very accomadating to get us out early to projected bad weather. The course lays long due heaven rains.

We booked on line with Golf Now and had a foursome. At the last minute one golfer got sick and could not play. We were not charged for his absence and that was very understanding. The folks at the proshop were friendly and helpful and pleasant. the course is very beautiful and fun and challenging. We played from the golds and had a great time. This is an outstanding value for the Golf Now price.

Great conditions at a challenging fun layout. Fast undulating greens make you work for a good score. Friendly staff and excellent conditions will have me coming back. It is a good value too!
