About
There are two 18-hole courses available at the Hickory Valley Golf Club, the Presidential and the Ambassador. The Presidential is the flagship course and it is also the longer and tougher of the two. The layout incorporates nine of the club's original 27 holes. The Presidential is nearly 300 yards longer than its sister course at 6,721 yards from the championship tees. The golf course has a nice balance of player-friendly features and challenging hazards. The wide fairways are quite forgiving, while the large, undulating greens are framed with bunkers. The signature hole is the par-4 second, which gently doglegs right, requiring a long and accurate tee shot. You're not out of trouble yet though, you'll still have to face the heavily bunkered green that also has a pond to the right.

Ninety Percent Excellent
For 15 holes on the Presidential course, it was a nice experience. Solid play was rewarded with chances at par for an average player. If they just took down a bunch of trees on 16 & 17 to make them even remotely playable, they'd have an special course. But those trees have reduced the fairway to practically nothing which you just can't have on a long par 4 or par 5.
But apart from that, you have some challenging holes and some scoreable holes, with lots of hazards. Greens ran well at a fair speed, partly owing to rain the night before.
For the money it's a nice course to play for average and better players, but novices are not recommended.

A quiet golf retreat
I played the Ambassador’s course, they have a presidential course. The layout was tricky to maneuver, but the course was very well manicured, worthy of the name. Tuesday and Thursday morning they have leagues so stick to late afternoon play time those days. The starter wasn’t happy I showed up on time because I suppose the group I had been pairs with was there waiting for some time. I’m going to go back again.

Very lush this time of year. Greens very fast. Too fast, like linoleum.

First time playing here
The course looked very nice, it was quiet nestled in the countryside. I arrived on time but was greeted rudely, apparently I was playing with a group. I hate being put in groups with people I’ve never met. I thought I was playing as a single. Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a senior league so the mornings are packed, the starter says early afternoon is the best time for slower pace of play. They also have 2 courses but the other was under maintenance

Tight in spots but usually in good condition
Only issue I had was because there are two courses and only one starter the starter was not really managing the first tee on this course. Play was slow because we had multiple 2 player groups between 3 and 4 player groups and it seemed that no one had actually respected the 10 minute tee times so multiple times 3 groups were playing the same hole.

Golf
Always a fun place to golf. Ambassador side. Greens were extremely fast, and hole 3/par 3 pin-position was fun and disastrous at the same time - A lot of tough pin positions, but good!

Tight course
Many trees and tight holes but also several open longer holes. Nice course and in decent shape for early season golfing.

Great bargin
course is a little tight, but still friendly to a new golfer. Staff is amazing, makes me want to come back!

1st Round of 2022
My Best Friend and I played as a twosome. We waited but was to be expected. Practiced between holes. A foursome jumped in front of us at #10. We were slower on back 9.
