Middletown Country Club
About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Middletown Country Club
Not as easy as it looks on the score card. There are several challenging par 4's for the average golfer. Course is in great shape.....except for the traps, they need more sand. Great value for the $.
Long time player of this course
I have played this course multiple times and I have to say that every time I go the conditions get better and better. They clearly are dumping money into this place and it shows. I remember the first time I went to this course it was a dog track. Now I would recommend it to any of my friends.
My one gripe from my past round was that they decided to aerate the greens right before memorial day weekend when they new a lot of people would be coming to the course. This really was bad timing and something they can learn from.
Overall they are doing great and will def be back here this season
Stay in the Fairway
Challenging course but if you get off the fairway, hard to find the ball. Rough is pretty thick. Bring plenty of balls.
Bring a lot of balls
While this course has a fun and challenging layout the conditions are terrible. The rough is almost a foot high, I lost numerous balls being a couple yards off the fairway. Unless you pipe in down the middle every hole I would not recommend this track.
Challenging Terrain
There have been several changes to the course. The fairways are narrower and have a lot more rough. I think the biggest changes are holes #9 and #17. A lot of over seeding has improved the fairways over last year.
Good maintenance on Course
the course was really in good shape. Greens were fast. fairways looked great some tee boxes in great shape and others needed some care. back nine was the ones that needed the extra tee box maintenance. Weather was cool and windy. Course was in great shape.
In a pinch
Only play here if you have too & don't pay more than $30 for it.
Putting Nightmare
The greens at Middletown are rock hard and superfast. Unless your a scratch golfer don't expect chips up onto greens to stay on. Some of the par fours are very long for the average golfer.
Terrible condition
The fairways were being aerated and were SO torn up. Twice I found the middle of the fairway but had a terrible time locating my ball - I found it both times plugged into a hole that was like a crater. Another time a maintenance guy drove over my ball in the fairway while aerating and pushed to below the ground. He didn't even say anything, just a shoulder shrug like "what do you want from me". I understand we are hurting for rain but grass around most green is tough to find. Lots of chips off very hard mud with rocks just off the green. Even with a golf now deal this was brutal! I've played 80+ rounds in the last 2 years... This is my first review for whatever that's worth.
Fun layout
Each hole was unique with bends, elevation changes, traps, trees, etc. the course could be kept up better, but loved the challenging layout.
Awesome Design
Classic old school design. The greens were running at 12 on the stimp meter. I do recommend playing this course at least once but its not for those players looking for a perfectly manicured golf course.
Love this course
I play this course just about once a week mostly due to how close it is to my house. The course is pretty challenging especially since you ar going up and down hills all day. The greens are very challenging, lots of movement but fair. The staff is great, always nice and helpful, course ranger generally stays on top of the pace of play. Conditions are great and are improving year over year, rough could use some work but helps provide some challenging shots. No cart girl but they have a perfectly placed snack stand that you pass 3 times. Would definitely reccomend playing here if you are in the area.
Fun course, great staff
This place was a lot of fun to play - very efficient and accommodating in the clubhouse, gave me a few tips on the course and let us go when we were ready. The course has a lot of hills and a mix of very long and very short par 4s - the hills make for some very nice views from the tee. Some of the fairways were patchy but it has been very dry, so that was to be expected. Greens have a lot of break to them. Used a putter out of the bunkers a few times, sand doesn't appear to be that deep.
There is a small concession stand in a perfect place - you pass by it three times during the round!
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
While I agree that 15 and 16 are big holes, long and short par 4 holes are very typical of old style course design like Middletown.
