Middletown Country Club
About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Excellent course
First time playing course. Loved the layout. Has everything woods, sand, up and down lies. Some holes you can't see the greens until almost too late but adds to the challange. Greens were in great shape and can not complain about the course. Highly recommend and will play again when in Penn
Challenging Greens
Booked a single and was paired up with another GolfNower. Finished in a little under 4 hours. Fairways were in decent condition. The rough was patchy which created some interesting issues (crab grass, missed passes with the mower). The pins seemed to all be in very difficult locations but it was early/mid week so I wasn't too angry about it. Greens seemed to be pretty hard. My playing partner and I both had several approach shots that landed softly before the green and proceeded to roll off of the back. Overall it was a good experience for ~$25. Will play again when I am in the area.
Tough course
I say tough course because I've only been playing a few years but it's a lot of fun very challenging great day out . You need to try it if you're in the area
Making great improvements
I have golfed at Middletown a handful of times over the past 6 years. Course has an interesting layout but the conditions always were subpar. NOT ANY MORE! The new greens keeper has done a great job bring life back to the greens and fairways, the rough still needs work, and of course this is a project so there are some still some fairways that need work!
Definitely play there again
A nice place to play
I was very pleased with my round. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. The course was in great shape. The greens were beautiful. I would definitely recommend this course.
First time at Middletown
First hole is intimidating. Number 2 handicap hole Off the tee you are looking straight up at a huge hill. It's on me but it freaked me out. Will play the course again. Cannot play number one any worse
placement is key!
I love courses that are mountainous, and make you think about your shots. I wish the ladies tees were a little closer on the first and second holes, or make them par 5'sI wish hole # 9, 11, and 17 had better yardage markings. The sand could be better. But this course is probaly my favorite course because of the layout!
Not the best kept course
I played this course years ago and for all the amenities that came with the club it was a well kept course. When playing the course this time it was not the same. This course has a lot of blind shots and the wooded and fescue area is unforgiving, however the greens were the only part of the course I would say was well kept. Although even with that the greens were as hard as rocks. This course needs to take some time and install an irrigation system, the only thing i noticed it would have needed was to be watered regularly to be in a good condition.
Middletown is getting better !!
This course is great if you want to kill an afternoon but not break your bank account. The new grounds keeper is clearly making great strides to make Middletown a even better local course. Some of the greens were under small repairs but nothing to be weary about. There is no cart girl but you do pass the shack a few times. I'll definitely be back the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Worst Conditions
This course is so poorly maintained. We left after playing 15 holes, it was torture!
I've played at many municipal courses and this is by far the worst.
Nice course
I received great deal from golfnow. Rainy early in day. Cleared by 130 tee time. Parking lot full. Not expecting lots of play on a thurs. Played 3 holes quickly then backed up as we caught up to shotgun outing. Waited 10 + mins on most holes. This explains " hot deal ". Outings should be posted on golfnow as you prepay in full. Have no choice but to wait. Overall nice course. Challenging but fair. Deep rough. Fast greens dispite rain.
Great course
Very friendly staff well-maintained course great pace of play will definitely book again
Middletown Country Club 6/4/2016
Starter was very helpful on the first tee, very friendly. Course undulations, elevation changes add lots of interest and difficulty. Greens were in relatively good shape as were the fairways.
The lack of yardage markers along the fairway or in the fairway was disappointing. The bunkers need sand, thankfully only hit into a couple but it was packed / hard and made for impossible shots.
Nice course
Nice place to play a round, fun course.
Wish I knew they were only playing back 9
Due to the fact that they were aerating the front 9 we were limited to playing the back 9 twice which was not ideal for pace of play or overall satisfaction as this wasn't noted on the reservation. The staff couldn't have been nicer and I was actually intrigued somewhat by the layout with undulations and matchstick greens. I would like to play the full 18 and reevaluate.
Tough greens.
Pace of play was very slow. Backed up on the first tee and then everyone after that. 6 hour round. Wow.
The course was in good shape. Some long par 4's even from the white tee's. The greens are tough. Extreme hills. Stand by with your ball marker and mark it as soon as it stops. If you are on the wrong side of the hole it is sometimes impossible to keep it on the green.
The fairways are in good shape. Rough not too high. All in all pretty good shape.
Worth the trip
My group usually plays in south Jersey . . . mostly flat courses and pine trees (needles). This well maintained course has a beautiful layout of rolling hills amongst a variety of tall trees. My gorup found the hills and greens somewhat challenging, but fair. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our outing. I personally look forward to return to improve my score!
Last day of year golf
The course was in great shape. You could not expect much better for last day of the year. Great price on golf now. Will definitely be back.
every hole is unique
The course was in great shape. Very green with almost all the leaves cleared. Much better than in the past. Can't wait to go back!
old school
This is a small old style course with hilly terrain and very small greens that in certain conditions can be nearly impossible. The course can play as tough as you want if you don't manage your way around. The back nine has some long holes that will test you but the front nine does not require driver except on two holes. The par 3's are a challenge.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We apologize for the pace of play on Sunday. Believe it or not, we had a frost delay of about 45 minutes that caused delays. Also, our greens are very fast right now not only because of the slopes, but they also are not growing right now with last week's colder night. Our super is going to raise his mowing height to slow them up a bit and open up some more hole locations.
Best Wishes,
