Bucknell Golf Club

A buddy and I arrived about an hour and a half early for our tee time so we could enjoy lunch in the grill. We were met by a very friendly staffer who loaded our clubs onto a clean and very serviceable Yamaha cart and parked it in the shade while we had lunch and checked in with the Pro Shop. Lunch was good.

We, like everyone else today, teed off on ten. The course is in excellent shape tee to green. Recent work on the greens left tiny groves and, I think, slowed them down when putting across the grooves. I know I never got totally comfortable putting throughout the round.

There are a lot of "blind" holes where you can't see the green or green-side hazards from the tee. For the most part that didn't create problems, and I expect it had more importance to "first timers" than to regulars. There are plenty of tee options. Every golfer should be able to choose one suited to their game. Fairways are wide enough, and the short rough playable enough, that most golfers should be able to easily find their ball. Pace of play should not be (and wasn't) an issue.

Although the parking lot was full and there was a twosome on the hole ahead of us and a twosome on the hole behind us, the course seemed uncrowded. Very pleasant!

The weather was perfect. The course was in excellent condition. It was a great day of golf with friends. The amenities was excellent, as usual.

A friend and I played this course for the first time. I like the layout and we basically had the course to ourselves. I definitely play here again.
