Linfield National Golf Club
About
Linfield National Golf Club is a public course that is one of the area's best values. Formerly known as Sycamore Ridge, the course changed ownership in addition to its name. Since those two major changes, the course boasts better conditions and a renovated clubhouse. The layout has a classic links design that incorporates traditional elements including water, trees, and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The up-and-down of the golf course is one of the most challenging elements of the layout. The course is tight with a few adjacent fairways but this configuration also allows for a bit of extra room for recovery shots. Some of the holes at Linfield National Golf Club are quite narrow but it is still possible to hit the green in regulation. Though the course is only 6,164 yards, the rolling terrain will make it seem much longer.

Tee Box Photo submitted by WoodsonGoBlue on 08/23/2016
Great undulating greens and elevation changes.
Love the layout although the bunkers could use more attention. Bunker conditions seem to promote a " no sense in raking mentalilty".
Good Choice
Enjoyed a round with my wife in November. 3 hrs. 15 minutes. great price and nice conditions with fair tee boxes for seniors. Course gives Hot Deals!
Remember,,,,,for every actor there is a reactor or two
I thought the course was in great shape. They cleared out a lot of underbrush lining some of the holes which gave them a much more open feel. We play here once or twice a year and this was the best experience of all the visits. Yea the layout at times can seem a little tight and the traps a tad wet but for the money this is a pretty good choice. The par 5's are fun, the 4's challenging and the 3's very playable (no need for a carry over anything). Pace was excellent on the course and on routes 76 and 422. I'll be back
Great day with my son on the links
First time using Golfnow and first time in a LONG time since I played Linfield. It was a warm October afternoon. Teed off at 2:10 and was able to play 12 rounds before I had to head home for a meeting. The course was in GREAT shape. The greens were in great shape. Didn't seem overplayed at all. Most divot marks were repaired. Didn't realize that we were in the shadow of the Limerick power plant due to all the mature trees!!! Great pace of play. We will definitely back this fall!!
Airation
They should inform you of recent airation when booking.
this course in really nice shape
I have played this course several times, I love the layout of the course and the greens are really in nice shape
Ok
I have played this course about 6 times. Layout is nice and kinda fun. Conditions are decent or better. Pace was very slow today. No ranger within sight. Not sure I have ever seen a ranger for any round here. A few groups in front of us hit many balls each off several tees. The guy we paid seemed ready for a nap. Barely made eye contact.
The course is pretty nice and with a little TLC it could be something even better
Dont charge so much when your putting greens are air raided and covered in sand. Not to mention charging $10 more to add to our group
A Course for every club in the bag
Linfield National is a great course. We played Labor day early morning tee time pace of play was outstanding even though it was busy we got 18 in under 4 hours. The course is in perfect condition. Challenging holes where you will use every club in your bag. Also you will use your course management skills! The Greens in my opinion are one of the most challenging in the area with a lot of breaks and slopes. They are pretty fast and in awesome condition. So Happy I tried this and looking forward to coming back soon.
Old Reliable
Good course, easy layout, and value for the money.
Beware of the unknown
Best to play with a golfer who has played course before. There are several blind tee shots and approach shots that require better direction. 2 greens had areas that were under repair. Be careful of errant tee shots as many of the holes run very close to each other.
Good value for the money!!
Course was in decent shape for this time of year. Pace of play was good. Overall a good value. I would definitely play the course again
Variety of holes
Kudos to superintendent George Hoopes on the condition of the course. I enjoy the variety of holes this course provides. With the exception of 2 of the par threes, no two holes are alike. Because the adjacent fairways are close together on some holes, there are sometimes delays while you, or someone else, are waiting to hit an errant shot. Overall, this course is fun to play and priced very affordably. My only complaint on the day I played was that there were several groups of beginner pre-teen girls who took at least 15 minutes to play 1 hole - bad scheduling on a Sunday afternoon. The pro shop, after a phone call, allowed us to go off on the back nine.
Played well even on a wet day
Despite heavy rain the day before, the course played well. Pace was a little slow due to a couple of slow 4-somes, with no ranger around to speed up play.
Very wet conditions
Overall layout if this course is great. Conditions were not good. Very wet. Bunkers were a complete disaster. Issues with carts. Overall a bit disappointing.
