Linfield National Golf Club
About
Linfield National Golf Club is a public course that is one of the area's best values. Formerly known as Sycamore Ridge, the course changed ownership in addition to its name. Since those two major changes, the course boasts better conditions and a renovated clubhouse. The layout has a classic links design that incorporates traditional elements including water, trees, and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The up-and-down of the golf course is one of the most challenging elements of the layout. The course is tight with a few adjacent fairways but this configuration also allows for a bit of extra room for recovery shots. Some of the holes at Linfield National Golf Club are quite narrow but it is still possible to hit the green in regulation. Though the course is only 6,164 yards, the rolling terrain will make it seem much longer.

Linfield review
Course is in decent shape. Teed off at 5pm, played in 3 hours.
Interesting layout
This course definitely has some challenging holes that make for an interesting game of golf. There are a lot of hills which sometimes makes it tough with blind shots. Also, there are a few times the holes run parallel, and you have balls hit into your fairway.
Overall, staff was friendly, and its a fun course especially for beginners since it is pretty forgiving.
Linfield National is ok
The course is a ice course it just feels like all the holes are right on top of each other. You can vary easily hit your ball onto another fairway or green.
#prettygood
Linfield National is my go to golf course - it is close to my house and is always a challenge. Friendly faces and staff help too. Know I will enjoy myself when I play golf there.
Great, But!!
The course conditions are the best I've seen in years. However, the bunkers are the worst I've ever seen or been in in a while. They look like the were raked but they were like concrete with weeds growing out of them. I'd expect this from an inner city course, not here. The edges are sharp and the fescue growing around them gives it a TPC type feel, except for the sand. We picked up and placed in the rough when we landed in them. The play was another issue, we played around 4 and the pace of play was almost 6 hours. No on course play management, no rangers, marshalls or anything. New sand in the bunkers and some policing on course through out the dat and it would be the best in the area.
Short and tight
Course yardage isn't correct. Played some holes that said they were 400 yards and only really 350ish. Leave your driver at home if you can hit it 250 off the tee. Played from blues and only hit driver 3 times. Most holes really play with drives of 215-225 from blues. Some hidden trouble if you've never played before. Very positional. Course in good shape but it is cramped so if you're playing during a busy time, be aware of errant balls. Made some notes for the next visit. Very pleased for 1st visit.
We are entry level golfers and found the course user friendly with minimal hazards and difficult terrain to make for an enjoyable day
Fun course - worth the try
Linfield's only problem is many holes are built to create a lot of FORES! If you can get over that or play at a low peak time, this relatively short course is fun to play with many unique challenges. The condition of the course is average but the greens roll very well and when cut that day are very good.
There are a few holes that are excellent. Compared to others pay per play courses within 20 miles, It is easy to say this course is above average. Try it and you probably will like it.
Another good round at Linfield
I try to play this course twice a month because of the great layout and value. The course is well maintained and the green roll nicely. There are some very, very challenging holes along with some tight fairways. It is important to choose your target off the tee and focus on course management and you will have an outstanding round.
Many curves, peaks and valleys
Interesting layout. Pays to know safe landing areas. Many up and down lies, raised greens and dog legs right and left. Fun to play. Course in great shape.
Mixed Feelings
Mid-level track at a mid-level price. The layout is decently interesting with good sized greens that run at a nice pace which is out of the norm for a mid-level priced course. They have done a good job of bringing back most of the greens and fairways that they lost last year. You get what you pay for with this course. Just don't expect top end conditions, there are some rough spots, but that should be expected at this price point.
I played there Easter Sunday and was a bit dismayed that I could no longer add onto a twosome as a single in the morning on the online system. Since the online booking system showed there were plenty of openings I just hopped in the car and went. The guy behind the counter was a bit taken aback that I had just shown up and told me 'you can't just do that, we have 600 new members and you can't just show up anymore'. That of course annoyed me a bit since I knew the tee sheet was VERY open.
He begrudgingly put me in but then charged me a higher price than the online rate which had me a bit miffed. I eventually paired up with one of their new members and he told me he had a similar experience with just showing up when he already knew the course was pretty open.
I would recommend the course to mid-level players that are 2 players or more. If you are a single looking to get paired up you might want to try another course. It's a shame about the new single player policy so it is pretty much off my list for now. I am not willing to pay more than those that can use the online booking system.
rude staff
website stated that they have a driving range, outdoor and a simulator. both were not available. my friend asked if there were s anything he can practice whike waiting for our tee time, guy rudely said no.
groups were booked 10muns apart which is ridiculously close on a sunday, so everybody is pushed back.
sand traps were not maintained, almost no sand at all, so being in there is like a 2 stroke penalty.
the rough was kept so high and thick, it was like playing in the us open.
tee boxes are danger zones especially ones that are near another fairway. hearing fore is a regular thing.
other than that, it was a typical pottstown course. shoutout to the starter, very friendly old chap.
I played here the week before and everything except for maybe a few traps were excellent. 10 min tee times are fantastic most courses are 8 min. As for the rough being thick that's a good thing. If it rained recently the rough may have been high as it is not wise to cut it when it. As you can see I totally disagree with this 1 star rating.
Gets better every year
Whenever I am in town this time of year I play Linfield National. Each year since the current owner has purchased the course it gets better and better. Greens were recently aerated(this has to be done) and even with this the course was in excellent shape. Almost all of the bunkers are in great shape. I played Bella Vista the day before and I can say Linfield National was in better condition. Cannot wait to play Linfield National again.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Thanks for the response from Linfield but my point is as a single I cannot book online before 2pm on the weekend. My only choice would be to phone in or show up and pay more which I am not willing to do. Two days from now on Saturday I see 4 tee times with just 2 players at 8am or earlier but as a single I cannot add onto those. Plenty of other morning tee times for 2 to 4 players open as well, which I personally would never book as a single, but it's a shame I can no longer add onto twosomes. I am already playing Limekiln Saturday AM and then Bella Vista Saturday PM but it would have been nice to play Linfield on Sunday morning. There must be a reason for this trend (GolfNow fees?) but as a golfer that plays about half of my 140+ rounds a year as a single adding onto other groups I am not very excited about it and am avoiding courses that are not single friendly.
