Miserable Starter Joe
This grumpy old man needs to go over to Limekiln Golf Club and join all those other unhappy people. How can you not be pleasant as a starter? Most people are laughing and cracking jokes on the 1st tee. Not this guy. Got my money back and will never return. Ran outings here for years. It's a shame.
Beautiful condition
The course is as nice as I've ever seen. Lush rough and well manicured fairways. Smooth greens, a little faster than I was used to.
A ltittle chaotic
The scenery, and the staff are exceptional! And the course and conditions are really really good too. However it's a bit chaotic and busy. Lots of waiting and the layout is so that we accidentally hit into two groups on their tee box, and 3 different times balls flew into our area while we were teeing off.
Good course - requires accuracy off the tee
Played on a Sunday morning in one of the first groups out. Pace was good. Not a lot of waiting around. Course is on the shorter side with only two par fives. Hybrids rarely needed. Need to be accurate on the back nine as there are lots of trees and ob danger. Two par fives are challening. Both with dog legs so course management is key to good scoring. I've played there a few times and always enjoyed it.
convenient and challenging
Course layout and marshalling play is very good. Just remember to bring cash for snacks no credit accepted outside of the pro shop or main area
Basic Public Course
This is a decent public course. I have no complaints. The second hole is a quirky dogleg right. I would not say the course is overly difficult. I am a 12 handicap. I hit my 3 wood off most of the tees. I had a shot getting on any par 4 in regulation. Everyone who works there was friendly. I will continue to play here.
Extremely Slow Pace of Play
Played the course on a beautiful fall afternoon. Clubhouse attendant was very pleasant, the starter was not. Biggest problem was pace of play. Took just over 5 hours to play 18. No rangers on course. Two groups on each tee waiting to tee off, sometimes three. Got to know the group in front of us, as well as the group behind.
Nice course. Bunkers need work
Good deal. Very good course conditions except for the bunkers. They are working on them so should be better soon
Great Value...
We got a 7am tee time for $20 on a Friday morning. I thought it was the earliest time...but a slow twosome was out in front of us which slowed us down a little, but not too bad. The course was in pretty good shape and the greens rolled nice. Not overly fast; but quick enough and rolled smoothly. The sand traps are not very good...mostly clay and filled with rocks. That would be my only complaint about this course. But you can't beat the value and the course played very nice. Several challenging holes!
Great Day at Mainland
Had a great round at Mainland. Course is in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. I played as a single and moved well throughout the round
Could have been better
The course was in good condition. Main complaint was pace of play, just could not get in a groove all day. There was a threesome a couple of groups ahead of us moving really slow and with no sense of pace. There was no presence of Rangers etc. We were asking the beverage girl to report. We ended up passing them finally , skipped an entire hole to get around them. Still took 5.5hrs and only played 16.
Short, average, tight course
It's not long, even from the blues. Holes parallel each other and you get players in your fairways. It's popular with high and some mid handicappers. Reasonably well maintained. Tee boxes were okay but not big enough and some were overused. I found it hard to let loose sine the holes were so close and some holes short. Greens were in decent shape, average public speed.
As you can tell by my comments. It wasn't notable and I likely won't play again unless friends and schedules require it. If you're not a long hitter or want a simple round of golf it's a fine choice.
AWFUL Bunkers and bad bounces
I'm a 10 HCP...I'm decent out of bunkers but good luck getting out here...the traps are literally filled with dirt and stones. Also, hit a good iron shot and prepare to watch your ball either roll through the green or bounce into 1 of their terrible bunkers. The pin placements are bizarre as well.
Decent course for the distance and cost
Fairways are in excellent condition. I understand they have a new greens keeper. bunkers are and have been hard with no soft sand and tees are in need of work. the bar and restaurant is excellent.
Sand traps, not
My biggest issue with this course is one that I encounter all too frequently in this area. The SAND TRAPS are GARBAGE. Dig the dang things out and put sand in them. Dirt with rocks DO NOT count. Really! You do charge enough to do a little work in the bunkers.
I have played this course on a number of occasions. However, it is one that I only play when it is the best fit for my schedule. Their sister course at Bella Vista actually has sand maybe they should ask them how they do it.
Fine Course
Mainland is a fine course. It's cheap, easy to get to, just need to work on 2 bad par 5's.
Starter
Was a nice course did nt have a starter went out as a 2sum there was another, 3 groups behind made no sence
Good Day at Mainland
Good day of golf at Mainland. Pace of play slowed by a couple of foursomes that thought they were on the tour. Course is in great shape.
Terrible course
Quite possibly the worst course I've ever played. The greens were terrible. Never a smooth roll. Tree limbs were cut down and just left on the ground. The rough seemed like it hadn't been cut in weeks. Will never play this garbage course ever again
While we appreciate the feedback, good or bad....you forgot to mention that in this case, you were late for your tee time, and did not want to wait 20-30 minutes to fill the next opening. You insisted on either jumping ahead of other people, or starting on 10....neither of which was an option as we were busy that day. You were given a complete refund for your issue with the starter.
