Great course but getting frustrated with lack of Rangers.
So of course this course is beautiful and one of the best in western PA. The problem I have is this...I paid for my wife and I to play, the two of us. Not a cheap course. They hook us up with two singles...were ok with that, we actually prefer it, because we 100pct believe in keeping pace of play up...but, one of the guys they stuck us with must have learned etiquette at a different place than I have. Constantly on his phone, carrying on conversations while we're trying to putt and hit tee shots etc. also, the kicker...he decided, without asking any of us, to putt his phones media player on so that we had a soundtrack playing in the background the WHOLE time. I don't blame him, he was a nice guy that obviously has never been confronted by a ranger while on the course for disrupting play. while I would have loved to have told him to turn the music off and stop the phone calls, it would have just made the round very tense instead of disrupting. Which is worse? I don't know. None the less, had a ranger been out there doing their job, we wouldn't have been put in that situation. Enjoy the greens fees quicksilver....you ain't the only course in town. If I'm gonna spend that kind of money, I'll go down to oglebay or lake view where they actually value golf etiquette....
A real treat
What a treat! Very enjoyable. A great challenge. Fast and tricky greens but rolled true. Too pricey to play as often as I would like but definitely worth going a couple times a year.
great
One of the best courses in West PA. Definitely not for beginners, although there were some on the course.
Great course
Very friendly staff, course is in great shape, great course for this area.
Well Maintained, Moderately Difficult
Well Maintained, Moderately Difficult
Tee boxes and greens are above average for a public course. Bunkers are manicured.
Great Golf Course
I highly recommend this course to all skill levels.
Good value when on Hot Deal
Course is somewhat challenging and is in nice condition. Good deal if you get the price of a Hot Deal.
I would recommend this course. Fairly close to Pittsburgh.
Golf
Great course. Challenging. Will return. Course in good condition despite a month of rain.
Good condition, slow pace
Considering the amount of rain we have had lately, the course was in pretty good shape. Only complaint would be that it felt like they were trying to cram too many people on since it was a holiday weekend. Had to wait about 5-10 minutes on each of the first 6 holes. The pace picked up for the rest of the round. Being local, I will play again.
Nice, but overpriced.
While it's in excellent shape compared to other PA golf courses, quicksilver was not all it's advertised to be. It is a tough track, but was not in the excellent condition I expected for 70 dollars. I've found the courses in Ohio to be just as nice if not better for half the price.
Fantastic Course
First and foremost the course is beautiful. Of course it has the hills, and valleys that all PA courses do but the course is designed around them as opposed to those being the defining feature.. Thick ruff, slick greens make for a challenging round forsure, but it forces concentration on every shot.. Now the one aspect that I felt was outstanding, and not something I see in public courses.. Great management and staff.. my foursome was of course running behind 8-10 min due to the always tardy friend, and it being a beautiful day the course was packed.. As well as an outing starting right after us. the ranger was understanding and made sure we got off, he squeezed us in on hole 7 then we played the first 6 holes after. There was a slight confusion at first where to place us because there tracking systems were dwn , but for which they profusely appologized for. Basically the service alone is enough to to make me want to make what was once a 4-5 time a yr course due to higher greens fee, a 2-3 time a month course for me.. Keep up the great work gentlman, and thank you
Hard Course.
Thick ruff, can't miss the fairway. Fast, great greens. Overall very challenging course if you are up for it.
Great layout!
Loved the layout of this course and the condition. The hills make it challenging. Would defiantly come back and play the course again. Pace of play was great but we had no one ahead or behind us.
The greens rolled quick, nice and true.
Overall just a great public course.
Challenging Venue
fortunately course was not crowded o/w gets backed up since it's hard to find balls in rough. Tough course
you'd better have your A game. Fast undulating greens and lots of uphill side hill downhill lies. Most courses we play white tees at about 6000 yards. Quicksilver is 6500 and when you account for hills - probably plays to 6800. So it is pretty long . But gold tees are too short.
A tough challenge in excellent shape.
Great course!
This is a spectacular course. It's hilly but not offers great views and good looks at the greens, only a few holes were blind shots, but this is a championship quality course hope to play it again soon.
The driving range was also in great shape!
Great course
Great course! The greens were fast and the fairways in great shape.
What a challenge!
The employees couldn't have been nicer. Greens are so challenging and it was very windy. But if you're not worrying about score and just having a good time it's great. Don't keep your score on this course unless you're an excellent golfer!
First Go Round at Quicksilver
Course was in beautiful shape. Greens rolled true, fairways in excellent shape. Course is not extremely long but the side hill lies and green undulations provide a difficult challenge. My only knock was pace of play. One of the signs said, "To experience an enjoyable round, pace of play should take no longer than 3 hours and 46 minutes." We teed off at 1:20pm and finished at 6:35pm.
Great deal
Was able to play 18 on a Saturday for $45 thru the GolfNow app. Tough course but beautiful and well kept.
