About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Fantastic course. Challenging and very well maintained
Meh
If you love hilly courses, have at it. Pace of play was was atrocious. Ruined the experience. Greens rolled nice, fairways were good. Tee boxes needed a trim.
Review, part 2
It was a hot day. 12:50 tee time . We saw the cart girl once . Saw places for water jugs around the course, all were empty. Finished under 4 hours with some waiting on the back 9, so no problem with pace. The issue was we couldn’t get a drink or snack for the road. Snack counter was closed before 5 on a Saturday. Will absolutely return
4 years later. Better then I remembered
Played here twice in a month 4 years ago and finally made the 75 minute trip to return. Fun, fun track!! Conditions were 90% tee to green. Bunkers were probably the best I’ve seen anywhere this year. ( I play once a week). Elevation changes all over the place. A creek winds thru 6-8 holes . Solid par 3s . Blind shots . Small FAST greens. I’ll be returning this year for sure!!!
Pleasantly surprised
Really nice older course. Conditions were excellent. Greens tremendous. No issues with tee boxes. Really nice layout. 4 hour round on a sat. That’s impressive. They need to get that clubhouse open.
Hot day to Play
Challenging Course. Some holes need improvement on the back nine. #10 is too close to a lot of errant driving range balls.. The only dog leg left needs better definition of fairway since there is a parking lot on the left and a large rocky outcrop blocking any views of the green on your 2nd shot in.
thinking mans course
not typical grip and rip course. plenty of doglegs anf elevation changes make you think before hitting. nicest greens i have played this year. first time and shot four over... which will improve after knowing the little tricks. ill be back for sure
Clubhouse is a picture in its self
beautiful course nice layout greens in great shape fast I drove one hour forty five minutes worth it.
