About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Course was in good shape for early in the season.
rough was hard to hit out of and no roll out of the rough.
Friendly and Challenging
Excellent course, open and challenging and senic. Great course looking forward to returning course is open but challenging with water on play on many holes and elevation and slope changes.
Short but difficult
Course immaculately maintained. Greens are just as good as any private course I ever played (and fast!).
Driving range is only 200 yards long, and some holes are short, but still have a forced carry (it felt odd hitting driver on a 350 yard par 4). That said, I really enjoyed this course and will be back!
Good challenge. Lightning quick greens.
First time to play Reading CC and really enjoyed it. Recommend it for anyone who hasn't had an opportunity to play the course. Beautifully maintained. Bring your A game, especially on approach shots and putting. Those greens are like the top of a pool table, with subtle undulating areas that require pinpoint accuracy. Have fun with those long lag putts.
Very fast greens
Excellent course and in great condition. Offers tight fairways and challenging pin placement. Very fast greens, allows for a challenging putting round. I would reccomend putting for a while to get the pace of the greens before playing. Overall great course and great value.

Played on a Monday, Golfnow HotDeal, But course is well worth the $45 greens fees.... well groomed, nice greens, kinda tight fairways, nice old school country club with Smallish greens.... good value, will go back again, watch the Blind Shots
Great Value for Money
The course was in very good shape. We had a great day and staff was very nice. Beer girl came around plenty of times throughout day to provide great service. All around good value and nice course.

I am updating a previous review on Reading... The starter told me they had rolled the greens 5 times this week and the greens were US Open fast.. The course had the advantage of a beautiful dry week of weather and it played very firm and fast.. You will not see greens like this as far as speed and quality on 95% of top private courses.. This is one of the best values in public golf in the Philadelphia region. If you like an old school course with tons of charm and a great staff, you must try Reading this year.
Old fashioned country club now a muni course, but hasn't changed much
This is a very fun course, if a bit overpriced, but even though it's a muni now, they still take care of it almost as well as when it was a private club. the greens and fairways are really nice. Ok, yes, there are some goofy holes. 3, 11 and 16 can be aggravatingly weird. But overall it's a nice trip back through time when courses were short and made difficult by bizarre landforms or other similar obstacles. Weirdness was celebrated.

Course is in wonderful shape. The pace of play was slow on the front nine, probably due to the number of par 3 holes. Course is very hilly with quick greens

Course is challenge and interesting. Maybe we consider lady's distance. Once I lost one club, somebody found it. I am very happy.
