Chapel Hill Golf Course in Reading enjoys a scenic backdrop of mature forests. The tucked away locale provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. While it may not seem like a long layout at just under 6,150 yards, you'll soon forget about any lack of length once you get on the golf course. From the very first hole you're confronted with a water hazard, a stream that weaves around five other holes. The layout forces you to think through each hole, making the tough decision between going for it or laying up. Accurate shot placement is crucial throughout the golf course, especially on the back nine where there are several tricky doglegs and tough uneven lies. Mature trees tightly line the fairways at Chapel Hill Golf Course, and the greens are framed with strategically placed bunkers.

Cut a bunch of trees and cleaned up nicely around the course. Cart paths are a bit rough but beautiful fluffy sand in 90% of bunkers.

Nice Place
Not a place for frills. It is an easy course with a basic layout. What I liked; extremely nice greens and sand traps. Fairways very good. Course is very nice if you are accurate with your shot. Didn’t like: some extremely narrow fairways, hole layout a bit boring. No beer. Overall thought very nice .

going to the chapel
course is in very good shape, as usual. some narrow fairways make it interesting, along with ponds and water. greens are somewhat fast and are in great shape. i play here 4-5 times a year

One of the hidden gems of Berks county
Now don’t let this title fool you. Chapel hill is no TPC course. But for the price of a round here. It’s hard to find a better bang for your buck course within a 20 mile radius. They have hidden fairway hazards that will eat your perfectly placed 250yd tee shots up. Length that will even make the longest of hitters scramble to save a par 5. Doglegs that would make a Great Dane blush, and bunkers that will leave you with a double bogey before you can blink. The course staff takes very good care of the track, although they tend to aerate their greens at very inconvenient times throughout the summer. They do make up for it with very true greens that are easy enough for a beginner, but can easily make an avid golfer 3 putt. I play this course about 10+ times a year for the past 16 years and they’ve been consistently a great go to for a quick 9 after work, or a Saturday morning drink til you can’t swing 4 person scramble. They get a 4.3 out of 5 stars from me all day long.

Course was in great shape!
The weather was perfect, the course was in great shape.
Check in was easy and quick. We like playing different courses in Berks county this is one we like in our rotation. Some fairways and greens are a little challenging and that what makes it fun.

Nice course, could be better
I grew up living by this course, nice area, easy to get to. The weather was perfect and the breeze wasn't too strong. Our only complaints are that for a public course, it didn't really stand out, the greens could have been kep up a little better, the fairways were great. The cart paths were a nightmare but those aren't that important. You can just tell that the course used to be nicer, it could use some TLC. The young guy (I'm 29 and I'm saying young guy) didn't seem happy to be there at all with how he interacted with us. I've paid less for rounds at other local public courses that treated us better with the same quality of play. It's not bad, but it could be a lot better with some TLC. I would definitely play here again.
