Could have been better
Duck Hollow is a hilly course settled back in the woods near Uniontown. While it has a few nicely designed holes on the front nine, the back nine is just plain strange. A 575+ yard par-5, a par 4 across a small canyon, and several very tight holes line the back nine, making it rather difficult to score well and feel good about your round. The staff was helpful and the cost was cheap, but the course was rock hard and I couldn't keep a drive on the fairway because a lot of the holes are tilted. If the course was wet and better maintained, it would be more enjoyable. I won't come back here unless improvements are made.
Really Bad
The course was horrible. The tees were probably the best part of the entire course. The fairways were dry dead grass. It was like playing i=n the desert. The greens weren't much better. I understand we have not had a lot of rain in the month of July. But they could have watered the greens at least.
Good time out
course ranger was very nice. We moved quickly through the front 9, slowed down a little on the back. A couple of course members skipped holes and caught up to us and got a little pushy on the last several holes. Got to talk to them on 15.. they realized several groups were ahead of us, and they apologized and we finished at a good pace.
The worst of the worst...
Having played this Course for the past 15 years, I was shocked to see how Duck Hollow has slipped into total disrepair. From the Tee Boxes that are dug up with little grass, to the Fairways that are barren and scorched, to the Greens that are covered with ball marks, this Course has been allowed to go into disrepair.
Whether this has something to do with the new residential construction that’s sprouted up this year as you enter the property and the owners seeing big dollar signs with additional house lots where golf carts once roamed, it’s anybody’s guess. What I do know is that it’s a sin to let this once-fun course to fail...and to charge $29 on top of it!!!
Bad
Course was best around a few years ago now I'd rather play a mini golf course. Grass is all dead they don't go over greens had to putt between goose crap that was old hard and turning white.
First a review of Golf Now...
An email I sent to Golf now, IF it even gets to someone there:
To whom it may concern,
This was the first time I used this app and May very well be the last.
I paid $35 each for a “hot deal” plus the fee of around $7. For a total of Approx $77.
When I got to Duck Hollow they said their normal daily rate is $29.95 per player for 18 holes w/ a cart. This would have cost me only $60, so I sure got a hot deal...??!!
Next the course review. Terribly dry course, hard, dry, dead grass, most greens are dry as well. Almost like playing off black top. I have played here many times over the past years and this was def the worst I have seen the course.
It wasn't busy, but
It wasn't busy, but it was not nice weather. Chilly and windy with a chance of rain. The course was nice. It did not look like the cups have been moved for a while though. There was grass growing in them. I never have seen that before.
friendly, helpful staff. Very good course for the price
