Sandtrap
The sand traps are in need of sand on almost every hole most times its like hitting out of dirt or dirt and sand mix
Good value
Greens are always well mantain. Challenging layout but fun!
pace of play
the pace of play was horrible. They got the tee times too close together which causes you to tee off late to begin with and they had a ranger out but that didnt help at all. 5 hour round was too long.
Great course. Great value
One of my favorite courses to play when I'm in York. Challenging course.
tuff course
This course is very nice and each hole is different creating a challenging day of golf that makes you work for your low score. Staff is very friendly and they are able to take care of your needs.
Great course
Great course. We weren't backed up much because we had 4 some, although there was 4 carts waiting behind us at 1st tee box. Course conditions were ok. Can't ask for pristine conditions in march. Pro shop should sell more stuff. Needed a divot tool and small ball marker. Didn't have either. Made do with a quarter. They also have great coolers for drinks on the course.
Very nice greens
Course is not easy for the average player but if you stay in the fairway your chances of breaking 80 increase. Beautiful greens.
Awesome, this time of year the beauty is breath taking.
Well !!, I played this course back in the spring of 2013, I couldn't wait for another opportunity to play it again. Quite challenging, the beauty all around you. In my opinion the course is in great shape. Tee box's are nice and level, and the greens are in great shape. I'am looking forward to playing there again in the near future so long as the weather holds up.

Good course
This course was better than when I last played it a few years ago. The bunkers have been refreshed with some softer sand. The greens were super fast in comparison to other public courses in the area. Pace of play was great, probably because we snuck in right after a tournament finished (I recall people tend to struggle to a 5-hour round here).
Public Course feels Like Private Course
I found the course to be in excellent shape . Play was fast . Staff very friendly and professional. Super value for the fee's !

very well maintained defionately will play again soon
Great Serene Feeling.
Course is well maintained with challenging holes. Greens seemed to be true.
Good value....two difficult uphill holes to end your opening and closing nines
The course was in very good condition considering the drastic turn in weather from bake to monsoon. Play moves very well. Good value
Great course layout
The course has a wonderful layout, with no holes hitting into each other. The greens were well maintained. Hard to pick up the break on the greens. Sand traps needed alot of attention. Lack of sand and some were rocks and sand. Fairways could use a little help with some bare spots showing.
Great layout, although with several 'blind' shots. Best to play with someone who's been there before.
This is a great course, which places a value on PLACEMENT, especially off the tee. Several 'blind' tee shots, and several tee shots that ask you to 'work' the ball right-to-left or left-to-right, for the best angle in to the well-protected greens (be ready to hit some bunker shots). You won't always need to hit driver off the tee, either. Practice your 4-wood/3-wood "precision" tee shot before you visit. Long par 3 (#4) plays 180-200 yds from the whites (usually into the wind), so practive that 3-iron/5-wood shot, too. #9 (uphill par 3) isn't much easier, and plays 170-190 again. Happy to escape these with par. #13 is the par 5 that runs down a ribbon of fairway that slopes LEFT (down to the woods) the whole way down. Best play is just to tiptoe your way down the right side with your favorite hybrid or fairway wood. Bogey is a good score here, and par would just be a "bonus".
Honey Run is a gorgeous layout, in a beautiful setting, with a lot of old-growth trees and elevation changes. Greens were quick in early July, but not obnoxiously so. This course definitely requires you to 'think' your way around, and to stay in the moment. Lose focus, and bogey or double bogey will sneak up quick.
All in all, a great golf course, well worth the drive from Harrisburg, Lancaster or Baltimore. Very picturesque, with some really special holes, memorable holes. It's the kind of course where, as soon as you finish your round, you start thinking about your NEXT round there. The "I know I can do better next time" effect.
OH, and they have the BEST homemade Chicken Salad sandwich there at Stingers. Call ahead from the 9th tee and they will have it ready for you at the turn.
very nice course, very slow players
I played here many times, course is in great shape and staff is friendly. On the weekends its always very slow due to the players out there. June is fast play month and my last 18 hole round took over 5 1/2 hrs. Most players have little etiquette and should be at little creek, they won't let you pass and play like It's sunday in a major. Tee times usually later than booked from slow play also. I hope tee it forward catches on, this course would be more enjoyable to better/faster players.
Great Day!!!
Thanks to All Staff and Fellow Golfers. My wife and I are new to the game, And had a wonderful time at Honey Run Saturday and can't wait to return very soon. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!
Course was in good shape with faster greens
The tee boxes, fairways, greens, and rough are in good shape. Pace of play was good.
Course is challenging.
The course has some challenging holes with lots of water and hazards. The elevation changes are pretty tough and playing from the fairway is very important for a good score.
Great staff and great course condition!
This is one of the best experiences I have had golfing in a long time. I had a friend visiting from out of town and wanted to show him a nice course. I hadn't played Honey Run for 3-4 years and honestly didn't remember it being this nice! When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly pro shop attendant. After paying he let us know that the group in front of us was a no show and the tee was ours but no hurry take our time. I was pleased at the lack of pretense in the staff which is rare for a golf club for some reason. After warming up on the putting green and heading to the first tee the starter told us that the greens were running 10 on the meter that day and were pristine. Thanks for the tip! I couldn't agree more! These were the best condition greens I have ever played in the York area and I've played at nearly every course. Also the starter helped us spot our drives off the first tee as we were having trouble picking up the ball. I will definately be coming back and with a GN rate of $37 on a Sunday morning it will be really hard to beat! The only complaint I had on the day was there needed to be some more yardages marked on the course. Sprinkler heads distances and maybe layup distances off some of the tees. I would give this 4.5/5
