Republic Golf Course & Club

Neat little course. About half of the holes are pretty straightforward but there is some variety there. 2 and 9 have platform greens (9 was scary for me because the clubhouse is right behind the green). Pictures don’t show how steep that slope is. Luckily I almost got up there and the ball stuck in the thick grass right off the green. 2, 3, 6 and 9 were my favorites. Greens were a little tricky because they were slower than I was used to. I walked it on a nice day and it’s all flat except climbing the green on 2 and the climb up to the clubhouse green on 9. $7 to walk 9. Wanted to go around again but was running out of daylight. Cash only.

7 bucks for 9 holes? Yes please. Republic is a fun track that takes about 1.5 hours to play. The conditions aren't great, as the greens are in rough shape, and the grass is patchy in places.

But there's excellent routing underneath the scruffy exterior, and the greens are SMALL. The last is a plateau par 3 that finishes just under the clubhouse.

I really enjoyed my round, and if I ever find myself in Great Falls again, I'll come back.
