About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Golfer Reviews
Slow Play is Constant Issue
I’ve played this course about 25 times over the years. The course is in pretty good shape for this time of year. No complaints there. The clubhouse and amenities are top notch. Staff was very friendly and I love the challenging layout. However, pace of play is a major, major issue here and has been for the last several years. We had a 1:50 tee time and did not tee off until about 2:15. Several groups waiting on the first. We were 45 mins in and had only played two holes. 5.5 hour round. Waiting on every single shot is brutal. This is not the first time either. On my last two visits I left on hole 16 because I was just so tired of waiting. It’s a shame bc I used to love playing here.
Great course in Lancaster, SC
This was my 2nd time playing the course. Conditions on the tee boxes were much improved from late April. Fairways and green were in great shape. Pace of play was good on the front 9 (2:00) and poor on the back 9 (3:00). Snack bar at the turn had good options and the snack/drink cart came around 4 times during the round, so that was good on a hot day. I really like the layout of this course and the clubhouse/practice facility is outstanding.
Great Facility and golf course. Worth the price and drive
First Time
Outstanding service. From the bag drop to our dinner. These folks have a great thing going here. Magnificent golf course, outstanding customer service and delicious food and drinks!
This course WILL be in my rotation frequently!
Nice course but
Nice course but the greens were extremely slow and high. It was cart path only for about 7 holes. Course was in good shape and would play again
Pace of play is awful
Pace of play is often too slow at this course, but when I played on 5/6/26, it was terrible because the course had designated 5 of the first 9 holes as “cart path only” for no reason. It hadn’t rained and there was nothing threatening the fairways. Our group had to wait at every tee box, sometimes for 2 groups to tee off ahead of us. It took 2.5 hours to play 9 holes, and the course wasn’t even crowded! After the front 9, I gave up and went home (even though I had paid for 18) because I saw 3 groups lined up to play #10.
Target golf
The course is in the heart of Edgewater community. Very new course in the area. It had some re-sodding done on a few of the holes and the greens had been sanded. Back nine was very much target golf as even with a middle fairway drive, your ball could roll off the fairway into the various pine straw or rough. Over all good course. Course management is a must.
Everything is great, except base of play
The new clubhouse is fabulous. This course has everything you could want. The only negatives were the pace of play (over five hours and we didn’t even stop at the clubhouse after front nine) and they have a cumbersome way of getting your bags back to your car after you’re around (they don’t allow you to drive your cart into the parking lot to unload your bags). I still rank this course very highly and recommend it to all levels of golfers.
