About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Golfer Reviews
Great greens
The greens are in great condition and they are definitely using the golf boom to upgrade the course, including new cart paths which is temporarily affecting playing conditions but should pay off in the long run. Fun track to play, have to use all your sticks to make it around.
Under construction
Found the cart paths closed due to construction of new cart path. Did not know this was happening at time of booking. Several par 4/5 holes were set up as par 3, one hole closed.
Fantastic Course!!!
I've played this course a number of times this year and every time it gets better and better! I love the layout of it, playing "positional" golf (not using driver on every hole), course was in fantastic shape and greens were like carpet. Couple of wet, mushy spots but certainly nothing to complain about. Tough to get a last minute tee time here because of it's popularity and the beautiful weather. Almost always play with a member who have been all wonderful people to meet and play with! Can't wait to go back!
Excellent Course
Great course. fairways and greens in excellent shape. Very fun to play and challenging. Highly recommend.
Solid
Layout is very good and course is in excellent condition. You’ll be hard pressed to play on better greens in the area. Tough to get a tee time as course is always packed due to good rates and having a ton of members. Pace of is play is painfully slow. Great track though.
Nice course but to slow
3:30 Tee time and was on time. Course was full and took 2,5 hours for front 9. Back 9 was no faster and had to quit after 15 due to darkness. No excuse for this. They need to push pace of play.
This is a very nice, but very difficult course. Also played on Sunday morning and really enjoyed it. Will play again on weekend morning but not on a week night.
Poor Quality Today
To begin, the started let a group of 3 walkers go ahead of us because they were ready at the box at 2:15 when their tee time was 2:30 and ours 2:20. What is that? We had terrible pace of play, quit early after 12 as we were already over 3 hours 20 minutes. Whole round would've taken 5.5 hours likely.
Course was wet but had good drainage overall. Green cut extremely short to keep speed. Overall wasn't the most pleased but it was ok
Fantastic greens
I was surprised with the quality of the greens, including the firmness, speed, and roll on all 18. Really impressive stuff, and a steal for the price.
Logistical Nightmare
The COVID restrictions are a little much making you check-in and get range balls over the phone. When we went, we asked the man on the phone for range balls and were not told where to get them or how to pay. When we got to the range the starter sent us back to where we came from and made it seem as if it were our fault that we were not instructed on how the process worked. Range is not even worth getting there early as it is mats only with a max of 250 yards and always full making you wait for a mat. Trees were clearly overgrown into fairways and further trees blocked shots that should be rewarded for hitting the middle of the fairway. As we were getting on the tee we were also told that #11 was going to be closed for tree removal...nice. The last thing you should know is that this is a very busy course so expect to wait on shots.
On the upside, the greens were well kept, fast, and ran true.
Bad layout and staff
The course is in decent condition, the greens are fun and quick. The layout of the course is not great, from the tips it is only about 6400 and it doesn't seem like it should even be that long. The back tees will have trees that block out shots that are clearly not designed to block out but simply because they are overgrown. The driving range was ridiculous, absolutely packed to the brim where it gets to the point where someone is waiting on behind you to get your spot. The range itself is god awful, it is only on mats and limited to shots below 250 so no driver for most. The starter was not particularly helpful and didn't seem pleased to be there.
