The Rock, rocks!
I have played here several times and will continue to make the trip. I’ve played courses for twice the money and half as nice. The greens are money for this early in the season. Only negative, no ball washers, anywhere.
Pretty course but almost 3hrs to get through 9 holes on a Tuesday? Seriously?
I liked the layout and how scenic the course was but 2hrs 45 minutes to play 9 holes and 5.5hrs to play 18 is ridiculous. Seemed like they let members tee off whenever they liked. It was really frustrating. Seemed to be the tempo of the course, nobody had any pep in their step. And this was on a random Tuesday. I'd hate to see what Saturday or Sunday looks like.
Nice course
For some reason there was party of 6 allowed to play and log jammed the entire back nine. Other that - awesome time!
Great day
Course was in great shape for the recent weather. Greens rolled true. Definitely will be back
Fall Golf
Course is in great shape for the time of the year. Maintenance crew had most of the leaves off the course. At times, pace of play was slow but not unbearable. Carts could use some updating. Definitely recommend this course.
Great course! Even better views!
This golf course is perfectly located. There is great scenery to look at while you play and the conditions of the course are hard to beat. The fairways roll well but are plush enough to get a good divot, the perfect combination. The greens are fast and roll true, they are a personal favorite of mine in comparison to other golf courses in the upstate. The Rock at Jocassee is also home to Gauley Falls, which you can see perfectly from the 8th tee box. This very underrated golf course will not disappoint and has climbed to the top for the best “bang for your buck” golf course in the upstate of South Carolina.
Extremely Challenging on every hole
First time playing this course made it tough. Small streams across many of the fairways cause a couple of lost balls in the water. Score card made no mention of the hazards. Next time I play this course I will remember
where the hazards are.
Wanted to play and it was nice
We played 18 and the course was in beautiful shape. Most noticeable were the tee boxes. I think 15 of the 18 had really nice grass and level hitting area. The whole course was great and never hit off anything but grass. Back 9 is nicer because there is more separation between holes. Views are very nice. The only downside was due to the rain it was cart path only. Not a friendly course for cart golf and walking as it was hot and humid and my wife is not as accurate or as long as me. I would like to play it again when it’s cooler and drier. Plus now I have some course knowledge
Great course and atmosphere
Great round of golf. Always nice to play where rangers and staff are welcoming. Starter got us off early due to a tournament. Visited the restaurant and bar afterward which was well run. Highly recommend
Thank you
Visited Georgia and South Carolina on a business trip and found some spare time. Googled golf courses near us and found you guys as an option. It was a Monday so the course wasn't too crowded, the scenery was beautiful and the course was in good shape. The only negative was the club house food choices were limited and they only had one set of make shift rental clubs available, minus a sand wedge and 3 iron, which my playing partner and I had to share. We made it work though and enjoyed the round. If in the area sometime in the future, we would play the course again.
Greens Under Repair
I play here a few times per year when my home course is too busy or closed. This time the fairways were in better shape than usual, but the greens had been aerated a few weeks ago, and they had been recently over-sanded. This made putting more difficult than usual -- very fast on some greens and inconsistent around the course. Putts could veer off line unexpectedly because of the sand application. The carts are really showing their age and need replacement, and the cart paths are terrible in many places. The layout is interesting and challenging, but much of the infrastructure is in poor condition. With an influx of cash this facility could be great, but in it's current condition it is only fair. If you can get a Hot Deal, the fee is about right -- just don't expect too much.
Great, scenic, fun
From a flatlanders perspective this offered some wonderful and challenging undulations throughout the course. fairways tricky and misleading and pretty much a target play course. scenery was great with a beautiful waterfall near 8th tee. I will defiantly play again when in this area.
Course needs a ranger
The experience overall was good. The fairways are narrow so high handicappers beware. There were several tee boxes in need of grass and some had a mat to hit from.
I will play this course again when there aren’t as many weekend golfers on the course.
Nice job Table Rock golf
I have not played this course in many years . It almost went under at one point but new owners have done a nice job from the condition to the clubhouse . I will be back soon.
