Windsor
The weather was great. The course was in great shape considering it's early March (not much grass in fairways). The customer service at the pro shop was outstanding, very accommodating they wanted to make sure you enjoyed your round. We had not played there in about 10 years, the course is much improved a lot of updates to fairways. The pace was play was great, we played all 18 holes on Friday with no one pushing us and no waiting on anyone in front of us. It was a lot fun, would play there more often if we lived closer. Thank You!!
A place worth revisiting
I drove about two hours to visit this course, and it truly felt like a special date day with my husband. From the moment we checked in, we had a great experience. A young male staff member welcomed us with a bright smile and clearly explained the overall course conditions, which immediately put us in a good mood.
The course itself is spacious and beautifully laid out, with a great variety of holes that keep the game fun and engaging. It’s not an easy course, but that’s part of the charm — each hole challenges you and makes you want to do better.
If it were closer to where I live, I would gladly come every week. Adding a screen or a small ice box to the carts would make the experience even more perfect.
I’m already looking forward to coming back again in the spring!
Needs some work
Inconsistent green quality and speeds throughout the course (yes I know they redid back 9) some are hard some are carpet. Back 9 very sandy.
Sad But True
For what it was it wasn't terrible. The greens are small and super slow. Like playing on thick carpet. Absolutely 0 fertilizer on the greens or tees. Might as well have been called browns. Some areas have noticeable improvements in place. Some areas haven't been touched in years. The back 9 is played through a newly graded subdivision. Signs placed throughout the course stating that you're responsible for damaging property. We played on Christmas eve due to lack of open courses in our area with morning tee times. Overall a decent place, but I'll do my best to not go back for a long time. Good luck and have fun.
Greens were sandy
Most of the greens on the back were still very sandy. Front nine greens were slow but it had just rained so it was expected. Overall the course was in great shape.
Got tricked into playing Falcons Lair
I played Falcons Lair like 3 years ago and vowed to never return. Well this year on my annual trip to Seneca I saw a "new" course I thought I had not played and it was so close to the lake house I figured I would book it.
Ugh.
Look, nothing against this course - but it was recently punched, a lot of the fairways had long thick grass where your ball would settle into it and get caught.... in a FAIRWAY.
Anyways... never again.
Great Score
Hard to complain. My best round this year but this is a review. Several fairways were brown and all has not been cut due to excessive rain. Tees and greens were in fair shape.
Terrible shape
I was a member of this course for 15 years until new owners took over. Once in a while the foursome I play in go back to Windsor to play. After playing today, it will be a long time before we go back. The course is in unplayable condition. Burnt fairways and fringes, uncut fairways and greens so slow and bumpy making them impossible to putt. To top it off they used a holiday surcharge to jack up the green fees. Will never go back unless changes are made.
Great Course
its under relatively new ownership , building a lot of houses on the course that has allowed them to upgrade the course. Its a harder than you think course. Enjoyed the day with my family
Perfect
Fin laidback
Eh….
If not for the GolfNow discounts, course conditions do not justify the regular greens fee amounts. The greens were in good condition but inconsistent. One was like a shag rug. The “fairway” is dried mowed hay on most holes. I do like some of the changes that have been made and the cart paths have had some attention but I don’t play golf from the path. Based on other courses in the area, this is a $20 course at best.
Good round
The course was in tough shape. Brown fairways uncut tee boxes high rough. It needs TLC
Needs attention
The course layout is very nice. The fairways were in need of cutting. The greens were very hairy. Balls rolled slowwwww
