good course
Course was excellent with the exception of allowing 10 people to play which really slowed play down. Never seen anything like it
Summer Golf
Beautiful weather. Staff in club house was friendly and accommodating. Course condition very good and the marshall was on the course all the time keeping play moving smoothly We saw him numerous times throughout the game. Good job ! The only drawback was that if you are not familiar with this course it's easy to get turned around and go the wrong way to the next hole. Other than that EXCELLENT Facility !
good course conditions considering
i played this course after a weekend of very heavy rain. The staff did a great job making the course playable. I look forward to playing the course again when not so wet.
good fun course
Nice, difficult public course. Live fairly close to the course so I play it quite frequently. Usually is jam packed on weekends but was surprisingly open. Played in about 3.5 hours. Course is in fairly good shape. Greens were recently arriated so they could use a few weeks of work but overall is a good track
Ok
The course wasn't in the best shape. The greens were pretty thin in some spots and the fairways still hadn't filled in. Still a good layout and good value.
Trampled
From what I learned from the locals, this course gets a lot of traffic. The fairways had no grass in the high traffic areas. Tee boxes were dirt. It seemed as thought he greens crew had just given up. I will not return.
Slow Play
Greens are in fair shape. Fairways are cut too tight and are missing grass in several areas.
Biggest complaint is slow play. When this course first opened the marshals would keep play moving at a 4-5 hour pace. I was sometimes waiting 20 minutes between holes.
overall not bad
When i played this course the greens where very bumpy and sandy. The two gentlemen i played with said they were trying to save the greens due to rough winter . overall not bad
Between seasons
Carts path are beaten up and the spring/summer grass has not come in yet.
The quick nine holes of golf
Staff is friendly and congenial. The course is not yet recovered from the wintertime it's still brownish and dry. greens are hard and fast fairways are chunky but playable rough is rough. There is not a lot of water on the course that's a good thing.
Always a good time.
One of my favorite courses in the area. You cant beat the price anywhere around town! I really enjoy playing here.
Tough winter
I know it was a tough winter in Memphis but come on, no grass on any tee boxes, bare fairways, and an over 5 hour round made this a bad deal.
The greens were quick is the best thing i could say, mostly because all the grass is dead.
Played three rounds in Memphis, only Mirimichi was worth getting out of bed for.
Great course for the money
Back 9 is tighter than the front, very doable for the average golfer and challenging enough. Food and beer prices can't be beat.
Quail Ridge Golf
This has been by far the best course I have played on my visit to Memphis. Nice design with interesting holes. We'll worth a try if you are looking for an enjoyable round of golf.
Bad managing!
Bought a last minute tee time online for a discount price. Arrived 45 mins early for my 245 tee time to warm up and practice to find several college teams warming up. I didnt think twice about it and went on my way to warm up. My tee time was coming up so I headed to get my cart about 5 mins prior to tee off time. There were no carts and they said some should be coming around shortly. About 15 mins went by as I saw 5 carts pull up and taken to teams. They finally provide a cart and sent me off to be paired with one of the college teams. I had no problem with being paired with anyone but by the time I actually teed off it was already 330. There should haven't been any tee times being sold online when they had 19 college teams playing that afternoon. I barely finished 1 hole before I realized there was no chance I could finish 9 let alone 18! Very disappointed!
Enjoyed it!
Nice course! I will most definitely play the course again.
Challenging course
Really enjoy playing at the Quail ridge, it is always in nice shape and the staff is great.
Top Level Public Golf in Memphis
There is not a ton a great public golf in the Memphis area but this course is great. Price is very reasonable and course was in outstanding condition for the winter, there were hardly any blimishes on the course. Layout is scenic and creative, something most of the other local courses lack.
challenging layout with plenty of options off the tee
I booked this same day and arrived 30 minutes early so I could get in 18 holes. They were great about letting me off before my tee time. Holes 1,9,10,18 run next too each other and are fairly wide open. But as you get farther away from the clubhouse the course gets very tight and hilly with uneven terrain on most fairways. Most par fours were layups off the tee to around 135 except for 9 and 18 which play over 450 yards from the blue tees. Great, quick greens for November. It was a warm, windy fall day but the trees blocked most of the wind.
Great Memphis Course
I have played at Quail Ridge more than 50 times in the last 3 years and each time it has taken longer than 4.5 hours. This time however, it was very quick. The staff, as always, is friendly.
