Great course but rude local players and slow play
The course was in really good condition and friendly staff. However, I would not go back on a weekend due to the attitude from some of the players we encountered. Half the groups we encountered were unfriendly and rude. A senior foursome we encountered felt they owned the place. They pulled up to our tee box while we were waiting on the group ahead of us to move on. They started preparing to to tee off while we were on the same tee box. We just shook our head and let them go. They very slow to play, and I also found a lit cigarette they left on a green. Take the players out of the equation and it would have been a great round of golf and the course would have gotten 5 stars.
Course is fun to play.
The layout of this course has some real negatives. There are a couple places where you need a helmet. Balls flying from the 2nd to the 8th fairways and vice versa are a real cause for concern.
The 14th and 15th holes are poorly laid out and poorly maintained. A tee shot that is only slightly off line may end up being unplayable. Apparently there was simply not enough land for these two holes.
GOOD COURSE
I WOULD PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN AND I WILL INVITE FRIEND TO PLAY ALSO, GREAT STAFF AND VERY FRIENDLY.
fun course with tight back nine
Quail ridge is a fun time for the average golfer, however: the back nine has a lot of water with tight fairways and long par fours that could be par fives in my book. Service was nice and everyone seemed friendly. No beverage cart was found. Must be BYOB.
Great day at Quail Ridge !!!
Three friends came in from out of town to play golf and I chose Quail Ridge. The staff was friendly the course was well maintained and the greens were in great condition. We had a great day and the friends went on and on about how much they liked the course and that we should do it again in the near future.
It was a great value. We'll be back.
Great Value
Great course outside of Memphis, especially for the money. Make sure to watch your ball closely as the bermuda tends to swallow it.
Fast greens. Well maintained course, fun to play. Great value.
Friendly staff, got right out when I arrived at the course. The course was in great shape. This is a course that plays 5,800 yards from the white tees and it has four other sets of tees. You can make it as easy or difficult as you want.
Course was very nice and a fair test.
Course was very nice and a fair test. It was very crowded on a Saturday morning, with some long delays on par 3's . The course seemed to be wide open in the afternoon. Par 3 tee boxes need some work. The course marshall was very friendly.
Great local course
The course was in excellent condition. The fairways as well as the greens were well maintained.
Tee to Green...very nice
In town from Atlanta, grew up in Memphis and never played here. I was so impressed with pro shop, concessions, Marshall with their friendliness that I will be back to play every time I am back home!
course in great shape
course is in great shape the staff do a great job on maintance I recomend playing here.
Over all was good.
A staff got attitudes seem like unhappy a member from golf now.
Stack you on the tee box
They stack you on the tee box. Waited every shot. Had 3 groups waiting on all the par 3's. At one time we had a group of six in front of us. Never saw a ranger on the course. We quit after 9, they did give us a rain check for 9 which we will not use since we live 7 hours away. Gave it to the group behind us since they lived nearby. The course was in good condition but pace of play way to slow.
Good greens
Course was good, greens were fast and in good condition. Fairways were good with thick rough. A few spots were in bad shape but overall a good course for both beginners and advance players.
Greens in good shape
as previous reviews have indicated, the course is well-maintained, particularly the greens which rolled at the perfect pace. The front 9 was impressive and fair. The back 9 was a little too tight for my taste and really doesn't match up with the "identity" of the front 9. I would definitely play this course again.
Nice Fairways; easily attainable
Overall a pretty good course. Some holes are challenging but with the right club selection on second shots, GIR is certainly possible. I would definitely push them to start some of the players on the tenth hole on busy days to help prevent the frequent log jams.
Great place.
The cost was 26 dollars booking online and it was well worth it. The course was in great shape and staff was very friendly. The greens felt like pro quality very fast and smooth. Will definately be going back.
Great value!
Quail Ridge is one of my favorite courses. Recommend playing early as it is busy and play can be slow in the afternoon. Course is maintained well and is always in great shape. Greens roll true.
Challenging but fair course.
This is obvious a very nice course. I made the mistake of not calling course before I booked which I normally do. They were sanding greens as I played. Also they had a special rate that was cheaper than what I paid through golf now. I played front in 1 1/2 hours, back nine 2 1/2 hours. I would like to play again sometime. Read reviews and this course had reputation of slow play, understand why now, I waited for a player to hunt for ball 15 minutes about 100 yards from tee. Good courses get a lot of play but they should monitor the pace of play. Slow play is killing golf..
Great Staff, Awesome Course, Cheap through GolfNow
Course was in decent condition, could have been better but the rain in previous days surely did not allow for the course to be as well maintained as I have seen it in the past. Staff was very friendly as usual and the price couldn't have been better through GolfNow.
