Beat the weather with wonderful golf experience

Returned to Greystone to play with out of state friend. Staff was very considerate & friendly. Got off a few minutes earlier than tee time (GREAT). Weather was expected to be so-so (TN in June means thunderstorms) but cooperated for a most enjoyable day. Played round in a little less than 4 hours so pace was wonderful. Only negative (still 4 stars) was greens - pace was slow to my liking (bent grass in TN heat means a little higher mowing) and the common issue everywhere that players don't know how to fix ball marks. Definite recommendation for Nashville area golf (well worth the short drive from downtown).

Must play

First of all $40 are you kidding me !!! If this course was in NJ it would be $100! The elevation changes are almost jaw dropping ! Couldn’t stop taking photos and I’ve played 100’s of courses up and down the east coast including Bethpage Black and Pine Valley. This course is every bit as memorable!! Greens are perfect , fairways and tee boxes are nice considering all Nashville courses got beat up this winter. All any real golfer can ask is to be challenged and rewarded for good shots and of course penalized for poor ones. You will hit every club in your bag and you will be challenged at each . You have to play here it is worth the 30 minute drive . As a transplanted NYer it seems like the players down here are expecting better service on the golf course than they get . If you want Marshall’s, cart girls , great food in the clubhouse and a starter greeting you at the first tee JOIN a COUNTRY CLUB!!! If you want a pure golf experience that will get your juices flowing and make you want to come back Greystone is absolutely a day to remember. Can’t wait to play here again and again !!!!

Maintenance

This review is not about the course. We enjoyed our day even though it was a bit slow. The course was in good shape and always challenging.

My review is about the restroom building on the course. We played early spring, and it restroom was in need of a deep clean, but o wrote it off thinking maybe it was just spring and they had not had time to clean. However, we played again in June, after the Tn State had been there during the week…but once again, the restroom was even worse. It was not fit for a male or female to use. The toilets were nasty, cobwebs and dirt everywhere. The trash outside was overturned and was scattered everywhere. We played around 11 that day, so there is no real excuse to not have the trash cleaned up.

I really hope the owners will read this review and maintain the restroom. I’ll gladly update my review when they respond.

Never an Enjoyable Experience

Now my 5th time to play here and i’ve never enjoyed it. The course is in good shape considering how harsh the freezes were last winter. 3 employees i did see in the pro “shop” and beverage cart were very nice.

No starter. Started 7 minutes late, though we were early to the first tee. That was the harbinger of things to come for the entire day. The group in front of the group ahead of us were awful. Hitting multiple shots from tee on. No respect for pace and, of course, there was no one to tell them to pick it up (literally) because there was also no course marshall. At the turn the slow group went into the clubhouse and lingered until they could get in front of us. In the clubhouse, there was no ice. Coolers on the fairway were empty. No water at the water stations either. it was 90 with a real feel of close to 100. Having run out of water i brought myself, i had to quit playing because i was physically and mentally exhausted. One of our group called the clubhouse and told them about the pace and they asked if we wanted them to “send someone out” like we were just calling to report but didn’t want anything done about it. And, they never sent anyone out.

Every time i come here i swear i’m not coming back and someone talks me into it. after this, there will never be a next time for me. this place couldn’t manage a one-hole golf course.

Great course with challenging terrain

Fantastic course that rewards hitting the fairways and avoiding the bunkers. The greens were consistent throughout and the condition of the course was remarkable and a really fun course to play.

5 hour round

Love this course but will not return due to pace of play. Our tee time was 11:24. There was no starter. From the first tee box. we were waiting on the group in front of us who was waiting on group in front of them (this became status all day!) we did not tee off until 11:45. Never saw a marshall. Waited on every hole for group in front who was also waiting. Took FIVE HOURS to finish and felt our group of 4 waited more than we played.

Great Course, Great Staff, Great Price!

Always a good time and one of the best secrets around the Nashville area. Prices for 18 can be as low as $32 - what a steal! Course is challenging and can be tough. Views are spectacular and it’s a must play course.
