Best Public Course in Middle Tennessee
Fantastic test that is in great shape. Zoysia fairways to Bent Greens. Does not get any better than this in Middle Tennessee.
Quarry Dust on a Windy Day
Just traveling through and there don’t appear to be a lot of options for public golf courses in the area, so it makes sense that this rates as one of the best around, Nice staff. Ok price. Beware it’s an extremely windy course. Staff said it’s always windy here. To compound that, there’s a quarry on the edge of the course that makes a racket and, worse, spews a lot of dust—so much we were washing our mouths out on many holes. Our pace of play was good. Course bathrooms were dirty. We had a fine day, but it’s one of those that we wouldn’t go back to.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting GreyStone Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
LONG ROUND
This course has a very intriguing layout. Difficult lies so knowing where you can miss is important. The issue was pace of play was brutal. Took us 4 hours to get through the front 9. Almost stopped at 9 and just took the loss because it was so slow.
The green quality was average but I thought the difficulty of the greens was fair for a mid handicap golfer. Around the green conditions were really poor, Fringes were fried and not well kept.
Overall, this is not a 75 dollar course IMO but I did enjoy the difficulty of the blind tee shots and somewhat hilly/link inspired set up.
.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Great course for the money!!
This course has a great layout. I only had time to play the front nine. Great variety of holes. Played from the tips and the length was great. Course is tough but fair. Some good risk/reward holes (#9). Look forward to playing it again.
Love this place
Being a resident in town I play here regularly. I find the course being carved throughout an old rock quarry very inviting. Many elevation changes but fun for most golfers that play more than a couple times a year.

Slowwwwww
Nice course but had to call it quits after a 3 hour front 9. I’ll give it another shot but the pace was brutal.

Under New Management
This course used to be exquisite. A gentleman and I used to play here often. We returned to this course after 4 years. Excitedly expecting the same quality that we had experienced a few years prior, we were met with disappointment. What was once a high quality course at an affordable price had become a low quality, poorly managed shell of its former glory . The previous golf pro has left as well as the previous groundskeeper and it shows. We were welcomed by a rundown exterior and a cold welcome by Proshop staff as if they expected us to grovel at their excellence and pomp(or lack thereof)

Tough, but fair golf course that was a blast to play
The course was a lot of fun to play. You have to hit almost every club in the bag at Greystone and the course challenges you on every hole in a different way. There are a number of aspects that rate a 4 (playing on a cold day in March, the conditions are not going to be perfect), but the staff and course make this course a must play for anyone in the Nashville area. You don't hit many penalty shots, but there is trouble lurking on every hole. The visuals are tremendous. If you are a serious golfer and can appreciate challenging holes and course architects messing with you, you will love Greystone. Bravo!
Great layout, froat delay
Overall it was a great course and would recommend. It was a chilly day so they pushed back the tee times so just be aware of that.
Difficult
This may have been the hardest course I have ever played. The greens were hard and super fast. Tight fairways that causes pinpoint accuracy. If you are anywhere but center of fairway there will never be a lie that will be even. Before attempting practice being straight and lies that will be above or below your feet.

Wonderful golf course with challenges every hole
Early march with dormant grass, so I could not give 5 stars for the conditions, but this course was so interesting. Many times off the tee, you have to think and the landing areas are wide, but the shot to the green is always demanding. The bunkers were fantastic. What I really enjoyed is the hills and turns and shots required. You will need every club in the bag.
I loved every hole and it kept my interest for the entire round. The clubhouse was fine and I had a good hot dog.
