Lovely course
My favorite course in the area. Everything is in great shape. Not crazy about the greens. Just enough sand sometimes that prevents the ball from checking a bit and it seems like no one wants to fix their darn ball marks. I fixed 5 or 6 every single hole just to try and help. Staff does a great job here and the course is in beautiful shape, but we need to do our part as well. Keep up the awesome work Greystone, I'm planning on becoming a member next year. Cheers!
Total eclipse of a roind
I'm just gonna tell you all that this course is currently in stellar shape, the layout is great, and I got to witness a solar eclipse during the round. How can you beat that on a "hot deal" on golf now?!?? Can't.
Hands down no questions asked .....
The very best course. Hands down really no questions asked. I mean the course is always in the very best shape anywhere in TN but what separates them from any other course is the staff. Greatest staff for a golf course I've ever played. I've played proli about 100 different courses throughout the U.S. My 1st choice when left up to me where to play and btw I live an hour and 10 mins away. Great job Greystone as always.
Great course that's close to Nashville
GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, TN is worth the short drive from Nashville, TN if you're looking for a first class golf experience that won't break the bank. Hats off to Charlie Blunt and the rest of the crew at GreyStone Golf Club for an excellent golf experience. For a beginner, this is a very challenging course, but the conditions and staff friendliness made it a very enjoyable experience. The course is in outstanding shape right now and the layout and design elements are top notch. Only complaint was that the grass on the tee boxes was pretty high which made tee shots a bit more challenging than normal. Great driving range and practice area. If you live within an hour of GreyStone Golf Club you should definitely play it!
This course is amazing
First time out at Grey Stone this year, it was definitely worth the hour and a 1/2 round trip drive. If I lived closer, it would be my go to course! Jim is great!
Beautiful Course
Probably the best course I've played all around. Difficulty wise it was equal to a couple courses I've played, but the Beautiful rolling hills, sand traps, large rocks and water hazard on 17 made it special. I will return for sure!
Men's club thinks they own the course
Was out on a Saturday morning, men's club was going slow and yet refused to allow people to play through. One of the players began using profanity towards myself and my son and was yelling back at us several times. I will not be returning to this course and I will be advising people to stay away as the men's club seems to run the place. Ownership needs to re-evaluate if the men's club is that important to them or if they would like to succeed with other patrons. Last owner lost the course due to lack of players. Maybe this is why.
Pleasantly Surprised
Stopped here on a drive from DC to Memphis. Not too far north of I-40 I found this place. Pretty impressed at the quality and value here.
The outstanding feature of this course is the layout, especially the holes clustered in a valley below the clubhouse - #9, #10, #11, #17 and #18. #9 and #17 are strong par-5's with daunting tee shots and approaches. #11 is a pretty peninsula par-3. The dogleg #10 features a severely downhill tee shot - plenty of landing room, but you have to figure out how far you're going to hit it to find your proper aiming point. And #18 is a beautiful and challenging finishing hole, with a (dry, at the time I played it) creek bed along the right edge of the fairway ready to swallow a wayward drive (which I barely avoided).
In addition to a terrific layout, the greens are top notch, firm and fast. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. A few places in the rough had some dead patches from cart traffic - maybe some better traffic management would help there.
Tee shot on #1 and second shot on par-5 #11 are totally blind, you really need to drive up and do some scouting (and make sure it's safe to hit).
Grass driving range is a plus (but it was a little shaggy), nice big chipping green to practice on.
Overall the experience was a memorable one. Very glad I stopped off here.
Utterly impresed
Worth the drive from Nashville! Played 6/12/17, First time be able to play Greystone and all I can say is wow, great views. Pro shop staff went out of their way to help and be well informative. The course itself.. one of the best conditioned golf courses in middle Tennessee. Highley reccomend Greystone!
Great value and course conditioning
Played this course when it first opened 19 years ago, it has matured wonderfully. Greens are quick and true, fairways are lush. Wild turkey hen nesting near 18th green, she couldn't care less about golf.
Always Love This Course
Greystone is the best designed and maintained non-private course in Middle Tennessee. The holes are challenging but with wide and lush fairways and large and extremely well cared for greens, this course is my local favorite. The layout and views are wonderfully appealing as well. Never been disappointed.
Excellent Public Course
Staff was very friendly and courteous. The course is in great shape and the greens rolled quick and true.
Great course
As always greens in great condition , bunkers could've used a raking.
One of my favorite coursed in Nashville area.
Tough when windy but best course in the area
I love this course and would much rather go here than spend an extra $20 to drive even farther from Franklin to some of the higher quality courses northeast of Nashville. The course was in excellent shape, especially considering the heavy rains we received in the last week. The course layout is challenging but fair and even tougher when the winds are up.
The only negative about the facilities themselves is that the men's room inside the locker room needs a refresh. From a golf perspective, I didn't see a single ranger on the course on a Sunday morning; pace was generally acceptable, but given how popular this course is, I would expect rangers to be beneficial.
Great Deal
The greens were great and had no scars. The fairways were in good shape too. Greystone is probably my favorite course in the region
Hidden Gem
Wonderful design, course was in excellent shape. One of the hidden gems in the state, worth the drive from Nashville.
