I will play this again
This is course offers a challenging and fun day for golfers of all levels. Greens are in good shape. You have to think your way around this track.
A must play!!
Man, where the start? I live about an hour and a half away and wanted to try a new course. I'm very grateful to have picked Greystone. This course is definitely one of my favorite courses now. It's tight on some holes and makes you play smart golf instead of trying to hit in 300 yds from tee box. The tee boxes are the best that I have see in quite some time. The fairways are a near perfect cut and can be a fun challenge if you happen to miss them. The bunkers were well maintenanced and can be a challenge. The only thing that I can say that I didn't like was people not fixing their ball marks. The greens had healing spots pretty much everywhere, but this is normal considering the amount of people who play this course daily and how soft the greens were. Overall, for the price and condition I doubt you will find a better course in middle Tennessee.
great course, one complaint
The course was overall in great shape. The tee boxes and fairways were immaculate. The greens were in decent shape, very soft and sand on them which green speed was inconsistent. The only downside is that you have no idea where the flag is on the green unless you can see the entire green, which was not often. All the flags were red but you did not know if the flag was in front/center/back, which at times could be 2 clubs difference.
beautiful golf course!
very nice club house, friendly staff. the course was in great shape, nice greens everything was well kept tee to green. very nice views would def play it again if i was in the area.
Nice tee boxes
Beautiful course... Great time.
A must play
I've played here five times now, sufficient enough for a review.
I love this course. It's scenery is second to none that I've played, especially during the spring/summer/fall seasons. Almost a tale of two courses...first half looks quite different from the back half. Couple holes have my Titleist's in a vice every round, but for a tough course it feels gettable.
Tee boxes: flat and neat. Grass could be a pinch shorter here for my taste.
Fairways: always in great shape. Plenty of elevation changes make a few fairway shots fun. Rough here can be a tad grabby on the hosel so the short grass is a plus.
Bunkers: not too many but I have a time getting out of them.
Greens: soft, but still carry a decent speed. Here's where my biggest complaint lies. FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!! I try to pull up three or four on every green, but there are plenty because the greens again, are soft. I don't typically play higher spinning balls and I can back my wedge shots up here.
This course is a must play if in the area. Staff have always been very friendly, even opening club house doors routinely. I've also never left without being thanked.
View off 18th tee at twilight is unparalleled, and the first tee is a fun one.
Great Mid TN Course
First time playing the course and should have played it sooner. Very unique design for Middle Tennessee. A links style course with elevation changes. Staff very friendly and the course was in pretty good shape though the greens looked a little chewed up. Nothing too bad though. Would like to see the course change to Championship Bermuda greens. Got behind 2 groups of senior women do the pace was a little slow on a few holes. Overall a great course and will be back.
Very Nice Course in the Hills of Tennessee
A really nice course, about 35 miles west of Nashville. Staff very friendly. Ranger on the course, saw him about every 4-6 holes. Clubhouse sits high overlooking the course 1, 10 tees, and 9 greens well above the course. Very interesting 12th hole... could be called "Stonehenge", as there are many rock formations strategically positioned in the fairway. (An Interesting and unique hole to play).
Day we played was incredibly hot (102') and humid (over 90%). Actually helped my game, as I did not want to waste a shot (where I'd have to swing a club again). Yes, we finished, but it was a very hot day.
tough course
tight course, better hit good shots if you want some birdies. really enjoyed playing here.top notch course, would pay 100 if this was in was nashville.
Great Course
The more you play this course & learn where to hit your shots, good scores are possible. Of course, you still have to make the shots.
A links in Middle TN
The course was a very nice change of the average park courses in the Middle TN area. Challenging and yet very pleasing to the management of the course and game.
Great course
Layout and conditions as amazing. Lots of sand and you will be in it. Bring your A game. Fairways are tight and sand is in all the right places. Greens are tricky. Some fast some slow. They were hitting the sprinklers whenever the greens were cleared so the speeds were all over the place. Very tough but fun course.
Wally
Very playable and a good test. Enjoyed the day.
Great value and conditions!
Short drive from Nashville. Well worth the drive. Senior rate was $29.00 walk up. Normally $39.00 for non-seniors. But this course is worth at least $49.00 to $69.00. Tees and fairways were in great conditions, but the bent grass greens were the star of the show. They were about 9 1/2 on the stimp and as true and smooth as anyone could want them. Sand was great, even though I snapped a club hitting out of the fairway bunker on #2 from hitting the bunker liner. Pro just took the club and sent to manufacturer to be fixed. Great staff. Need to play here if within 2 hours of Nashville. Will definitely be back. Pro Charlie Black is a class act!!
Blow me over
This course still provided an enjoyable day/round despite extremely windy conditions (even affected putting).
The bar afterwards left a great deal to be desired.
Amazing Layout!
great course to play. We drove from Memphis to go play, the only down side was there food place on site was closed and the Bent Grass greens were just air rated. but this course is amazing I will for sure drive back to go play it again!
Great Track! The best public course in TN
Great shape for this time of year. The greens were pure as always and the fairways were tight. Typically hard to find in December. I would always recommend this course to anyone year round. Great staff!!
True golf experience
First experience is pulling in and noticing rolling hills , limestone and natural high grasses. This course was my first experience with zoysia fairways and have loved them ever since (balls always look teed up in fairway). Greens are perfect for avg golfers, they have decent speed and roll true. The most playable feature of the greens is that they are soft, so approach shots don't need perfect trajectory to hold greens. The course is still challenging providing semi narrow fairways, steady winds and an intimidating finish with 3 of the final four holes among the toughest in the course. 17th hole (par 5) is easiest the best hole, design wise and visually. Would put this course above almost any in Nashville on quality .
This is a beautiful course
The course is beautiful. It can be a little challenging to someone who is not a really good golfer but you will have fun anyway. Class A facility
