Golfer Reviews
Must Play in Nashville
Greystone is a fantastic course with a solid layout and some great scenery. I gave this course a 5 star rating based on my overall experience- the pace of play, conditions, and layout combined to make this a go-to public course in the greater Nashville area. To be fair, I did play midday on a Monday with perfect weather, hence good pace of play and fortunately a warm day with a nice breeze. The course offers several tee boxes, making it a challenge for the seasoned golfer but approachable for those wanting to play from the forward tees. The elevation changes, "linksy" feel on much of the course, and great conditions will bring me back to Greystone GC.
One of the best courses in Nashville
I make the drive from Nashville to play this course a couple times per month. The staff is super friendly. The course is always in great shape and the greens are nearly perfect. Kudos to the staff at Greystone!
Greystone with Tom
Worth the drive.
Changing scenary.
Beautiful layout.
Beautiful course and challenging
The only complaint about this course is having to drive to Dickson. It is worth the drive, however. First off all the driving range is excellent and you can hit as many as you want before and after your round. Practice greens are better than most courses' playing greens. Every hole on this course is interesting and challenging. Hole 9 if you hit driver (par 5) over 270 yards, you may end up on a bad lie. Hole 12 (par 5) has large boulders to the right and in the middle of the fairway and if you hit the ball in the 300 yard range you may end up on or around one of them. This course is just under the caliber of Gaylord or Hermitage, but very close.
This course has so many varied holes
Every hole is great and different, had a group of 4 and all of us were very pleased with the entire experience. Fairways were nice and the greens were almost immaculate.
Great course, value and round
i played here 10+ years ago and remembered it as a challenging and nice course. the course was pretty much what i remembered. it was in great shape. the greens were in great shape and the ball rolled true. there were a few spots in fairways and around greens that needed work, but overall conditions were very good. My experience was probably enhanced by the fact i shot a career low round - 72!
In great shape compared to other courses
Was a good experience, Cart Girl last call real early, before we were on the back nine. Bunkers in need of sand or at least tilled. They were hard as a rock.
Wonderful golf course.
From the Tee boxes to the Greens ,one of the best public courses in the Nashville , Tn. area.
Best course I've this year in Middle Tennessee
I don't write many reviews but I feel compelled to do so, especially considering course conditions in middle Tennessee this year. I've played Governors Club, Kings Creek and few others and ALL I've played did not fair well with either our harsher than normal winter or planting of new greens. Greystone is the exception. I've played this course somewhere around 20 times now and it is by far my favorite course in the area. It's a 40 minute drive for me but it's well worth it. While I admit the course was in better condition last season, it's still only marginally below last year. They've had a fair number of tournaments recently and even with the greens being 'beat-up' a bit, they are still VERY good. If I lived closer, I'd likely join. The course is not very forgiving, although some holes are, but it's beautiful and worth the drive. I convinced a few neighbors and friends to give it a try and they all agree with me and this review. If this course was in Franklin, TN instead of Dickson, it would probably cost you 2-3 times the price they charge currently.
Grey stone
Great course. Kept up extremely well.
Every green, hazard and fairway were immaculate.
Great course
This course is maintained very well. The holes are a challenge for any handicap using the proper tee box. The vista is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Greens and fairways are in very shape.
Great!
Greens and fairways in excellent condition - the best I've seen in a while! Well worth the drive! There were quite a few bunkers, but not much water. And excellent course, we'll be back!
Solid choice
Located approximately 50 minutes from Nashville, Greystone is located in scenic Dickson. Take the 96 highway to enjoy the rural sights. We were greeted most pleasantly and all the staff for the rest of the day were equally as pleasant. The course was in very good shape. The fairways were rolling and the greens were firm and true. The green speed was excellently. This was my first time playing the case and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Make sure you stay to the right of the rock on #17. The wind was up so judge yr club selection accordingly! Enjoy.
One of the best in town
I checked reviews before booking, and was not disappointed. So far this year Greystone is holding better than rest of the courses in Nashville area.
Please reviews of courses you play, we help each other.
Thank you
Great greens
We tee off at 12:00 and the course was wide open. We played 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours. The greens were in great shape and fast. The fairways were a bit rough and could have been mowing but ,not terrible bad. Use bug spray if you can't keep the ball in the fairway (Chiggers). All and all this is a great value and I would recommend playing.
Remarkable conditions considering the weather
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. The course was in great shape considering the winter we have had. There are still a few spots that need to heal up but I was real surprised at the conditions. I just wish some people would repair their ball marks and a couple others on the greens. I will return again very soon.
Great Course!
Played here for the 9th year in a row. This is a Great course, just 45 minutes from Nashville. The fairways were still a little dormant, but were in great shape. The greens were a little hard and fast, nothing was holding, but they putted true. It is such a unique layout, any new person in our group just loves it. Plus the rate is fair.
If you are in the Nashville area, or heading to Memphis from the north, stop and give this course a try, you won't be sorry/.
