Ok for the price
We play here because it’s right next to my buddies office and we can squeeze in 9 before dark when he gets off work. It’s not bad, not great. Started the spring in rough shape, but it’s getting a little better. It’s short, but the layout is fun and some of the holes are challenging enough to keep it interesting.
Great
This is a great local course. Superb value for the price. The staff is always awesome!
Course had been aerated and chunks of dirt everywhere.
Whole course was just mud no grass
First thing the superintendent apparently decided to punch the fairways while it was way to wet with more rain coming. Made the whole course a mud hole. Barely any grass on course anywhere but the greens. Also the punched around the greens where there wasn't any grass at all. Never had the first good lie with any Grass under ball. Greens are in great shape is the only good thing about Whittle springs golf course. Maintenance really dropped the ball with the planning of aerification of fairways. Wouldn't recommend anyone to play whittle springs until middle of May.
Good place for a cheap round
Played in April, and the ground was still pretty hard, making iron/wedge play difficult. Only had to pay $10 for 18 with a cart thanks to GolfNow, but you kinda get what you pay for. Had to wait a little for a cart as they said they were having issues with the carts, having to charge them after every round. I even saw one being towed out to the course. Then, it was very congested at the front 9, so we went to the back 9 to start and the pace was much better there. We needed a quicker pace, as we were just 2 people and started at 4:45 pm. Luckily we were able to get all 18 in, but on our last hole they came out to tell us to finish up and come in. You'll likely run into a group or two with some beginners slowing things down too. Which I don't care, they can play too, but for pace it will slow you down. Overall average course with fair conditions

Greens were fantastic, Fairways were dormant . Enjoyable day.
Annoying kids that don’t follow tee time procedures
Tee time 11, solo golfer, got to tee box at 10:57, my 11 pair had already teed off. Caught up to them, then they insisted on me playing through. This resulted in them hitting into me multiple times, and me having to wait out the people in front of me. Super rude 18-20 year old kids. Paid for 18 holes, only played 9.
Don’t play on Sundays
I should have known better than to play on sunday. It’s always over booked. Slows pace of play down, groups stack up on the tee boxes 3 deep. The group behind me jumps to the next tee box and slows things down further. No course marshal. AND on top of that mowing literally in the middle of play should be a universal no no. Whittle you should know that.. Thanks for making me skip 2 holes.
Great for the money
This course is very good for the casual golfer who wants to have a good day at the course, but isn’t upset with a bad lie of the ball. I played before the Bermuda grass was thick on the fairways, so the ground was pretty hard. The greens were in great shape.
