The Legacy
About
The Legacy Golf Course is one of Robertson County's must-play courses. Opened in 1996, it is not as old as some other courses in the area but the designer, Raymond Floyd, took advantage of the existing mature woodlands spread throughout the lush, rolling hills. At 6,755 yards, the course is seemingly short but it is narrow, and be prepared to face troublesome hazards almost everywhere. It is notorious for making balls from even the most slightly errant shots disappear. It is a tough but fair challenge. The golf course starts with a tricky par 5 with a bunker on the right followed by a par 4 that requires a 200-yard carry or you'll surely be faced with trouble. The back nine at Legacy G.C. is slightly less difficult but there are still plenty of hazards as well as several blind shots.

great place to play
the greens was in great shape putted good the fairways was in good shape mowed good the only bad thing there was some bare area behind a few greens not on them and a few bare spot in a couple of fairways should come out in a couple of weeks they are making the course better working on a few of the bunkers keep up the good work
Suffering from Middle TN winter and spring weather
First time playing The Legacy. I had always heard it was a nice track in good condition. It however is suffering from what most other courses are in this area. Marginal fairways due to late bermuda growth. Collars on almost all greens are a mess with hard pan, no grass. Not sure what happened to the bunkers, however they are rebuilding them. I must say I did enjoy the layout , it is both challenging and interesting with a nice variety of holes. The greens were in good condition, so putting was true and fun. Also noted the efforts to repair cart paths. Assuming the course can recover from its current playing conditions, I would play it again.
Excellent!
Worth every penny. Great condituons, great layout. Nice putting green and driving range. Not much more anyone could ask for. Several holes are definitely challenging enough for seasoned players but overall, interesting enough for beginners.
Great Layout
Played on a Saturday with noon tee time. About 20 min backup on the first tee. Rather slow round but to be expected at that time. Course suffered due to weather conditions this year but still in ok shape. Would definitely play again.
One of the Top Courses around Nashville
Legacy is definitely One of the Top Courses around the Nashville area. It’s a real gem, always worth the short trip up from town.
I'd be willing to bet that this course was top notch at one time 10 years ago. I could still almost see it as it once was. The staff were friendly and helpful l, and it was easy to see that the operators did the best with what they had. With long narrow fairways, and elevated sloping greens, it was by no means easy. It was worth the price in my opinion, but the 5 star rating on a discount tee time app was an exaggeration at best.
Layout
Course is a great layout. Too early in year to appreciate course. Definitely will return
Aerated Greens. Still a good time
Played the course during the spring so the greens were aerated when I played. They did call me earlier in the week to let me know which was nice of them. Still played well just didn’t make many putts. Great layout and I am sure it’s a top notch course in the summer. Will try to make the trip back down and check this out when it greens up and the greens are back to normal.
Great Layout and Friendly Staff
I hadn't played the course in over 10 years, but was impressed with the changes that have been made. Staff was great and very helpful. Love they gave out a course yardage book. Was a really windy day and a very wet winter in Middle Tennessee, but the course has held up well. Will be back.
Great Value.
We played the course on our way home from a golf trip to Alabama. It is a nice layout, but it does have a couple of holes with trouble that you don't see from the tee so take advantage of the free yardage book they offer you. The Bermuda grass was dormant and they did not oversees, but the playability was very good. The greens were also in good shape. I would definitely play it again if I was in the area. It was a nice course and an excellent value.
Love to comeback and play
This course has nice greens. The bunkers are in greater condition than many other courses I have played. I really like the course. Wish I live closer so I can play more often.
Great value for a good challenge
Course is in off season condition, but the greens were rolling true. Only issue was the placement of several pins. The course, from the back tees, is still relatively short, and I reckon this was the only way to protect it from lower scoring...However, several were in indefensible locations. I enjoyed the challenge, and posted a decent score, but for most higher handicaps, that couldn't have been fun at all.
Totally Worth the Drive from Nashville
One of the top courses in the state without a doubt. Lots of variety in the hole layouts, greens & fairways make good use of the hilly plot of land and all elements of this track are kept in well above average condition.
Tee boxes were in good shape on all holes and the fairways, which had varying grade, often allow you to attack the green from different routes. Even our group of higher handicapped players kept their tee shots in "the short stuff" and didn't find the fairways to be as narrow as the description says they are.
Greens are always entertaining because you can be within six feet of the hole and easily three putt because of the breaks. A couple of the greens are massive so you get a great roller coaster ride going from one end to the other.
Bunkers, which I unfortunately visited several times, have very well kept sand. Even in the dead of winter after several inches of rain they were fluffy enough to splash the ball out of. Sadly can't say the same for many higher priced TN courses in the dead of summer!
Rated the Off-Course amenities as "Average" since the dining area is outdated. There are a number of nice TVs on the wall, but the chairs are super uncomfortable and the rest of the room (and the outdoor sitting area) could use an update. Have seen much worse though, and the staff in that room are all real nice so I have gladly enjoyed cold beverages on the premises. Pro shop is in good shape.
Legacy golf course
Really good greens for this time of the year. Most bunkers were in good shape and the price was excellent
