CPO
Arriving at facility I was confused where to go and poor signage where pro shop is located. Then I find that the gold carts are back where I parked so I would have to walk back to pick up cart. We get to starter and he informs us in a rude manner that it’s Cart Path Only and that they have marshals that will remove us from course if we don’t abide by the rule. Pro shop never mentions CPO and attitude of starter left me with no choice but to write this review. We are grown men and know the rules. No need for threats.
Overpriced
I like playing here, but not worth what they are charging to play. There always several CPO holes, even when the weather is nice. Cart girls are slow to come around, saw them once early round didn't see them again until about 16 hole. Way too much slow play.
Shores vs Pinehurst vs Point
Pinehurst 9 is in less than average condition. Shores is by far the best 9 holes. Greens are too long .
Sad Conditions
I have played this course over the last twenty years. This was the worst shape I have seen the course. The greens were in really bad shape, lots of weeds and dead areas.
Save your money
We got a tee time for Atascocita based off the reviews it had, it was rated above 4 stars. The day started well, after getting a cart which was a little torn up, we hit some complimentary range balls, and headed out after warming up. I’m not sure if there are watering restrictions currently, but most of the course was like playing off of concrete, including the greens. The greens were rough, with it resembling plinko instead of putting. The pace was super slow, taking almost 5 hours to be able to finish as we were held up all day. It’s unfortunate as the layout of the course was nice, but the playing conditon is currently terrible.
Conditions have deteriorated
We have played this course a few times before, but this time the greens were not very well maintained and the fairways were pretty rough as well.
Personally feel like this course has gone downhill on conditions. In the past it use to be above average. Yesterday, I used points that I accumulated for a free round knowing what to expect, but also hoping for some improvement since it's been alittle while. Pro shop is fine and staff friendliness. Clean and organized for its size. Range was pretty bad with severe uneven ground while hitting. Every since green on the course and p4actice areas were covered in weeds which sucked. Sand bunkers were like concrete or gushy. Can't really help that unless the staff as well as players rake the bunkers after themselves or if mother nature decides to downpour so. Fairways were ok for the most part. Tee boxes were uneven and beaten up but that's again most average public courses. I just wish that there were actual grass to chip and hit off of. And better green conditions. Might as well not line up your putt cause you never know where the weeds were gonna knock it offline too. To be honest, I only played there because that was the only course open that day at a particular time and I needed to cure an itch. If you're not a dedicated serious golfer then this review doesn't matter to you.
