Great for the Price
Northcliffe is a great course and was maintained very well. The greens were great with only a few holes with imperfections on them. Fairways were green and was easy to find the ball even when you missed the fairway. Only complaint was the water/mud by the bunker on the first hole, but other than that, it was a great experience. I will certainly be back to play again.
Golf Now Tee time hassle
I had a difficult time checking in my tee time at This course. I had a hassle with the golf shop. I booked my tee time on Golf Now and had a receipt on my cell. Unfortunately, The golf shop would not accept my receipt, but wanted a paper copy; even though they saw my name on the computer. Other than that, the course was good. But they did let me play eventually.
Course is in the best shape I have seen in years.
Enjoyed playing this course. It has been a number of years since I have played here and the conditions have really improved. Great course for the value!
Fast play
Love this course, going to play here as often as possible. Greens putt true, fairways cut tight, little ruff.
great course
Enjoyed the game and the course, had a great time.
Dream green .
Did not know what I was in for, being my tee time was 6:36 A.M. So let me tell you, WOW ! What a HUGE turn around for this course in just a few years . From the tee box-to the greens-near perfection. Not a ball mark on any green. Players and staff take care of this course with pride.
Goat Ranch
It's just okay and a bit of a goat ranch. There was also no water in any of the water jugs, so be sure to sneak an ice chest on with you.
course in good shape
only issue was too crowded, forced back to back tee times which lead to backups on all par 3's.
on one par 3 we had 4 groups.
Course in great shape for July in Texas at this price
The course was in great shape compared to other courses
around the area at this price. Pace of play was good for a Sunday morning and the marshals were friendly and around
to make sure pace of play was maintained.
Will be going back soon.
Started bad, finished OK.
First time at this course and the experience started off a little disappointing. On a full day, like the day I went, have fun finding parking! The really fun part was when the man in the pro shop almost jumped down my throat for not having the printout of my GolfNow reservation, showing I paid, online. I tried to show him on my phone but he mentioned (very strongly) that GolfNow reservations have to be printed out in order to play at this course. The reservation I made online didn't mention printing out the reservation to present at the course. After letting me know how frustrated he was (at least a couple of minutes), that I was there without a printout, he gave me my receipt and starter receipt (with an attitude) and told me that next time I wouldn't be allowed to play without the GolfNow printout confirmation. I had to wait about 30 minutes for a cart, and then the course was so busy, it took me over 5 hrs to finish the 18 holes with a two-some. The course looked good, the cart tech was very professional and nice. The starter was nice as well. Unless someone invites me, I won't be playing here again.
value that beats the driving range
for the cost your money is much better spent gere than the driving range, u wont hole many putts given the depravity of these greens so take ur 2 putt and nove on slow players..."while were young"
received very good green fee price
course is average, and I find significant savings on green fees at noon or later
Cheap round of golf
Its not a course that is going to woo and wow you but its definitely maintained. Its a nice course to play for a leisure round of golf. The price point of 20-25 dollars with cart makes the course a good value. Lots of foursomes on the weekend so be prepared to wait. Best time to play is during the week and twilight.
Great Shape! Great Price!
Even though the course was a little backed up with players slowing the pace of play, the course itself was in great shape and the price was just right.
Terrible Course
The entire place - clubhouse, greens, tee boxes, sand traps, etc...are in terrible condition. As soon as you walk in the door and encounter the lazy/apathetic staff, you know that this is a real budget operation. The course is missing signs, there are numerous sprinkler system leaks, and some of the traps have several inches of water standing in them. Don't waste your valuable time and money on this (way) below par course.
Nice course
This course has gotten a lot better recently, actually has nice fairways and greens are in pretty good condition. Great course to play for the money and would diffently give it a try. I would ask though that each ball cleaner have water, however each water cooler did and that's more important.
Best golf for 30$ or less in San Antonio.
I've played a lot of courses in Texas and for any type of round this is the best value in Texas!
course looked great
My buddy and I were pleased with the course this past sunday I don't think it could have been better. We will definitely be going back again thank you.
Course & Greens need attention -- Pro Shop Staff less than cordial
Overall, the course has potential, but the greens are not in good condition. Slow puts with dead spots and various types of grass. Tee boxes need work. Less than level and various types of grass. Upon showing the golf now email on my iphone, the older gentleman in the Pro Shop wanted to charge me an additional $5 for not having the printed copy. He said that they required, but my email reservation, said to only show the proshop the email and didn't state the requirement. After "lecturing" me on how their accounting was having a hard time finding out what people were paying using golf now and my resistance to pay the hidden $5, he finally gave up and said next time he will require the fee. Needless to say, I will not play this course again and do not recommend it to others.
Superb customer service, good course
Northcliffe is one of the better, well-maintained municipal courses in the area. Fairways couldn't be better. Greens are about 7 of 10 right now. Due to rains lately, the sand traps are a little bit of a problem. Staff was fantastic. This course is challenging from the long tees, but it's not so challenging from the normal tees that it becomes no fun for the average golfer. GolfNow's price made it a superior deal. Had a good time with the folks I was paired with.
When making a reservation on Golfnow it tells you more than once to print and take your reservation with you.
