Good Public Course
The location and course layout are fantastic. The greens are very good. Here’s the Rub, the fairways could be much better. This course sits on a lake and they don’t seem to irrigate. They have huge bare spots that need dirt and grass. Some of the fairways are in decent shape but this is a theme that’s been going on for years. Fertilizer and Weed control would help some. There’s no excuse for this. The Carts are whipped. They desperately need new carts. My wife sat on plywood that had most of the cushion that was missing. Cart #18.
The grills burgers are very good. Please fix your fairways. No one likes to play on dirt or hard pan.
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we have a few fairways that have struggled since construction. Last year's drought and water restrictions did make things a little worse than previous years. We have completed soil samples and are working on an enhancement plan for the soil nutrients in these areas to improve conditions.
As for our golf carts, the new carts finally arrived June 5, after being order for 15 months.

Nice course
Nice course by the lake, just watch out for the fire ants. Not sure what they can do about them though
golf carts
carts need to have their seats recovered. The carts were VERY DIRTY. The one I got had not been cleaned for a long time and the seat had NO covering on the passengers side. Only thing to set on was the wood. Be sure to bring your disinfectant spray. Mowers were mowing and didn't seam to care that we were trying to hit a round. This may be why there aren't many platers on the corse.
The gal that checked us in was not so friendly......our 1st time there & needed token apparently for range balls. She didn't ask if we wanted to hit balls, we had no idea where to go for the 1st hole or anything. We had lunch afterwards & the burger was great & the young lady that helped us was so apologetic because the fryer wasn't working. She was super nice & accomodating about subing chips instead...
Fun course for all, built for players⛳️
Great track, great greens, great challenge… greens are large, super fast, and in great shape… Plenty of challenge from the tips, good mix of long and short, par threes, and some reachable par fives… Hitting lots of drivers and an occasional Threewood off the Tee… fairways are important, the native areas will eat your ball most definitely
Great track
Played it for the first time. In great shape. My only issue isn’t course related, playing as a single, the slow foursome in front of me never waved me through
Do yourself a favor and get the hamburger after your round as well!
We like this course as it wraps around the lake. The wild flowers were in full bloom and made the course really beautiful.
Some of the fairways needed some cleaning out of the weeds and more grass, other than that the course was nice
The carts need a little repair as the seats were torn on the edges and some of the ice buckets lids were broken.
Not impressed
This course has so much potential! The clubhouse is nice sitting right on the lake. After that it was downhill. The staff was not friendly. The driving range was closed for some reason. The course is in fair condition at best. Weeds and fire ants were plentiful. Too many other courses close by to play here again.
That’s Cleburne for ya! That range is inexplicably closed every weekend. If they had different management it could be a hidden gem.

water needed all over course. greens very fast with good rolls. probably play it again next time i'm here.
Cheap beer and fast carts
Great layout and pace of play. Played here twice so far and can say it’s one of the best conditioned municipals in and surrounding DFW. Better have the driver dialed or else you’ll be hunting in the weeds all day. If anything, the weeds save you from walking over to hit a bad shot off another persons fairway to save you the embarrassment. Worth the hour drive from Dallas.
Good value for a Sunday round of golf.
Course was in good shape. Fairways weren’t bare and greens rolled fairly smooth. Used a GolfNow Hot deal which made it a really nice value round.
