Red Wolf Golf Resort

About
There's no doubt Red Wolf Golf Resort is a Texas-themed facility, complete with holes named after the Harrington's bulls (they are providers of bulls for professional rodeos) and a Southwestern-styled clubhouse. As for the golf course, Jay Riviere's design has always been considered a fine layout. Take advantage of the easier front nine by scoring well on the opening holes. No. 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. It shoots through a narrow opening uphill into the sloped fairway. This one is mean -- it was formerly a par 5 -- and requires a long approach over a lake.

Doesn’t look bad in the picture but it is. Luckily there’s been a lot of rain. Give it a couple of weeks in this heat it will all be brown. Photo submitted by u480307563 on 08/06/2024

We enjoyed thank you!
We had a good time from the Pro Shop meeting the Rep there to the time we left. A lot of humble people there along the course. Everyone was courteous. We had no problems during our time there at Red Wolf Golf Resort. Definitely kid friendly, thank you. There are some beautiful views on back 9 don’t miss out on those! I do recommend them to stock up on some items for the pro shop for purchase. I would’ve loved to have a few Red Wolf Logo Balls for my Son and I for our collection. Thanks to the Pro Shop Rep for the great first impression we will be back.
Disappointed Poa annua disaster.
Played course many times prior. I knew something was wrong when the parking lot was empty. This course is normally better than most. The local kids have taken over cutting donuts in the fairway and four wheelers cutting across the greens. The poa annua has taken over most of the greens ball bounces like it’s a basketball court. Will not return here till late summer maybe?
Hog Chow
The back nine was all but devoured b the hogs. The fairways looked like moon craters and reeked of wild hogs. The cart girl had no ice, and limited selection. She served out of two ice chest instead of a normal food and beverage cart.
Horrible
Course is in horrible shape! Fairways are just regular grass, weeds. When they cut the fairways, they do not bag the grass, they leave it on the fairways!!
Multiple fairways have been destroyed by wild boars, and they just leave it that way!
Do not waste your money on playing this course!
Worst course ever!
I travel all over this country, and play different courses several times a month!
This is absolutely the worst course I have ever played. It seems they have just given up on doing any maintenance.
Several fairways are absolutely destroyed on the back 9, and nothing being done about it!!
Unkempt
Everything was overgrown and rundown. I've been to this course before and it wasn't bad. But it's just as expensive as other courses in the area now and it has not been kept up with anymore. If you miss the fairway by 3 feet, the grass is so high and out of control that you will have to search for 10 minutes just to find your ball. The sand traps are unplayable. They are overgrown with weeds and have very little sand left in them. This course is nowhere near the price being asked. If it was $15 to play a round, I wouldn't mind. But this place has really gone downhill in a hurry.
Like playing in a cow pasture.
To start with, because they claim to have a nice restaurant, we didn’t bring anything to eat or drink, other than cups with water and ice. The fairways do have grass but not mowed and like a cow pasture. If you don’t keep your ball in the fairways, forget about finding it. My partner lost over a dozen balls. Even in the fairways they are hard to find. They do water the greens so in pretty good shape. Don’t think you’re going to get a true roll though because they’re long and slow. It would be a great course if maintained. Needs a lot of $$$ and TLC for that to happen.
Even at the $25 rate we would not play again.
