About
Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa sits along the banks of Lake Huron with Sarnia to the East and London just 45 minutes west. The course has a links-style layout that stretches to 6,782 yards from the back tees. Designed by Rene Muylaert, the creation of the golf course required over a million tons of earth to be moved to the site. It was then molded and shaped into rolling terrain that offers a tough but fair test. The namesake creek comes into play on 13 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers that lurk beside the greens. There are some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing to the high handicapper. In addition to the golf course, Sawmill Creek also has a driving range available for warming up.

When I got there they did not tell me the front 9 had just been aereated and filled with sand. The Greens were terrible. They also forgot to tell me that the back 9 was closed. I am not happy about this and think you should credit my account!
Great shape
Fairways and greens perfect condition on back nine which we played twice since front 9 was being aerating .
Long par 4's were fun.
Sawmill in Great Condition
Sawmill has some of the largest greens I have ever played, and this day had some wicked pin-placements. I have to make an excuse for a horrible day of putting, but some holes were cut on hills & slopes of these expansive greens. Greens are fast, but held incoming shots nicely; the fairways are cut nice, but the rough is very penal --thick & long grass (to the point you could lose a ball within a yard off fairway). I think those challenges added to the slow play of groups ahead ........plus there was some cutting as our group made the turn; no starter late in the day, and after a morning Outing. Drainage & sideboards have helped the Hallway Hole #12, which is still a Par6 for us old guys. Thanx to GolfNow for the Hot Deals special pricing, and I shall return, gotta redeem myself after poor putting & scores.

Super Fun
Tough course. A lot of fun to play. Lots of sand for public course.
Sawmill Creek review
Truly my fave course in this area by far. The course is in great shape and the greens, fairways and layout is top notch. Love the Fazio design and will keep on coming back. Staff is super friendly and helpful each time.
Excellent Track
First time playing here in 5+ years, course was in great shape greens are fast and challenging. Staff was friendly, Would highly recommend.
