Meadows/Woodlands at Shaker Run Golf Club
About
Shaker Run Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. 18 holes were designed by Arthur Hills while the remaining nine came from the design team of Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. All of the nines have different characteristics but they share a rolling landscape that is unusual for a golf course in Ohio. The Meadows nine is considered to be the gentlest of the three nines since it doesn't have the trees and water that the other two do, but it still provides a good challenge. The golf course has a memorable finishing hole with out-of-bounds along the entire right side leading to the double-tiered green.

#9 Lakeside Photo submitted by stover3928 on 10/18/2012
Woodland greens & fairways very good, the tee boxes on many holes need attention. Lakeside was generally good, lots of trees being cut, Emerald Ash Bu
A nice course for the money and play was fast today.
Nice course
Nice course they teamed us up with another two players. Then had two groups of two follow behind us.
Bad on course mgnt.
The cours was great, what holes we got to play. Group in front of ours were super slow. It took almost 5 hrs to play 13 holes. No rangers. We called clubhouse an still no one came out. Shouldn't be that bad on a Tuesday morning....
Still one of the best layouts in the area!
I have always loved this course, but I thought that the conditions were poor a few years ago. Conditions are much nicer now. Still need some work on some tee boxes. Great value and had a lot of fun!
One of my favorite courses in the area
Course was in good condition and is always a great place to play
This course has seen better days but is still fun to play
This is a challenging course with narrow fairways and not very forgiving. I like holes 8 and 9 on the lakeside course. My favorite course here was the woodlands. Not too enthused by the meadows because of the housing community.
Great course
Had a great time with great course had an awesome shot on wood side check the pic
Beautiful course
Shaker Run is a beautiful golf course with impeccable facilities, clubhouse is one of the best I've been in within a public course. Yhis course would have easily received a 5beautiful star rating if it easn' t for the slow pace of play we encountered, 5 hour round.
Greens Coming Back
Shaker Run has always been one of the better public courses in the Greater Cincinnati area, but they lost their greens for the better part of 2012. Luckily, they're coming back now!
Throw in a free lunch/beer and it was a pretty great day!
Nice layout, which is why I'd recommend playing, however, everything else is overrated.
I don't know why the reviews are so high. Driving range was ok, not great. Balls were above average (included in green fee), but they could use more target greens. There were 3 club cleaning tubs, only 1 had any water however it was about 1/3 full of dirty water. There was no drinking water either at the range. Could use a practice bunker as well. Carts:no seed mixture, so divots had to be replaced by hand, which was lacking throughout the course, many divots on every hole. No cooler on the carts. Sometimes that is not a problem but when there are no water fountains and it is a hot, humid day, it is a problem. In addition, no water fountains in the clubhouse. The starter gave no course advice except to tell me to stay on cart paths on certain holes. He did not even know the pin position for the day. Tee boxes, especially the Par 3's were horrendous; trying to find a nice lie was difficult and time consuming. There weren't even any tees on the carts (lack of attention to detail). On the positive, I liked the layout and the differences in holes. They need to put slope and rating on the scorecard and create another set of tees between the Gold at 7300 yds and Black at 6600.
Scenic course with several challenging hols
The course was in good shape, we teed off in the afternoon and play a leisurly round of golf.
Challenging course
Greens are hard and fast. Play it links style and you'll be fine.
In good hands and improving every day.
While there are still signs of neglect by the previous owners, there are obvious improvements underway. The greens a receptive to good shots and the fairways are fair and reward well struck drives with modest roll. The course is challenging, but can be made much easier, by choosing the right tees and playing smart. A free lunch of pulled pork or chicken was included after the reasonably priced round,
Very slow play but one of areas best
A really great course for the price. Awesome par 3s with lots of water coming into play. Greens were in pretty good shape. This course is looking like it's on it's way to being what it used to be. Go before 8 a.m or you will be looking at a round close to 6 hours, but again worth it.
Great course!!!!
Course was in great shape, fairways rolled perfect and greens were the perfect speed. Will definitely play it again.
One of my favorites in the area, pace can be a problem.
Course is a bit pricey, but it is what it is (and it does keep out the denim-clad riffraff). I only play it a couple times a year because it is pricey and I view it as a treat, so they get my attention when they sell discounted tee times. The reduced price comes with a hidden price though.....slow play. They reduce the price, but then overbook the tee times. I started as a single then joined into a threesome. Torturously slow play. Becomes un-fun waiting 10 to 14 minues between every shot.
Course is always nice, greens usually good.
Fantastic course
I have played several local courses and this one is by far the best it is very well maintained and the scenery is the best around I have found a new favorite
Not impressed
Played this course last week. Woodlands to meadows. If this is supposed to be one of the top courses in town....I gotta say I was not impressed at all. The staff was great, but the course itself was just not in great shape, especially considering this years weather. Apparently they have changed the hole numbers on meadows...problem is there was NO signage at all to tell us where to go, and the staff never mentioned it either. We got totally lost! Also the meadows course was an absolute mess! Weeds everywhere! Looked very unkept! Yankee Trace, Heatherwood, Pipestone are by far better for the money. To think that shaker used to get 75 dollars a round a few years ago is ridiculous!
Good condition. Traps are terrible.
Greens in good shape with true rolls. None of the numerous traps were raked. We raked a spot and placed the ball before hitting out of them.
