Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Located just northeast of Columbus, Chapel Hill Golf Course has a central location that makes it easily accessible. Its affordable rates make it doubly appealing. The course was designed with players of all skill levels in mind with four sets of tees and some fairways that are open and others that are carved from the forests. The layout tumbles across rolling hills that provide interesting elevation changes and scenic views of the surrounding countryside. There are water hazards coming into play on seven holes. There are some notably challenging holes including the par-4 ninth, but the seventh and 11th are the golf course's signature holes. Built on the site of the former Mount Vernon Bible College, the old chapel now provides a unique clubhouse for the course.

Such a great track!
This is the 2nd time I made it out this year to Chapel Hill, and by far one of the better tracks outside the Columbus area... And far better then most of the $50/round tracks in Columbus!!! The course is just so well taken care of and great views all around!!
Very nice golf course
Chapel Hill is the best golf course in Mount Vernon. The greens are nice and the fairways aren't bare like other courses in the area. One thing I haven't liked the last few times I have played there is that the fairways are very hard especially on the front nine, its hard to use my wedges when i cant get under the ball much, but it does help the ball roll more in the fairway. Overall Chapel Hill is a very nice course in Mount Vernon.
It could be a nice place to play
Do not go to chapel hill if you want to play in 4 hours. The course overbooks and has no management. if you don't mind a 7 hour round, go play!
Great Course
love everything about this place. It is by far a favorite of mine!
Chapel Hill Outing
Excellent course and in great shape despite a lot of rain the past 2 weeks. Pace of play was under 4 hours with our foursome despite the large number of golfers on the course. Excellent value for the money. Definitely a must play course this summer.
Staff is Rude
After driving to Mt Vernon from canal winchester which is a long way away to play a course I enjoyed in the past we missed a turn into the course & arrived 12 mins late for our tee time. I was told we couldn't play unless we both paid $7 each for being late. Considering I just drove 1hr & 20mins to play & already had prepaid I did as he asked which I feel is Totally uncalled for. Then we go out to play & have to follow a group of 5 golfers. I think rather than punish people who travel a long way to play they should pay attention to what's going on out on golf course. Course is Beautiful & Challenging but being Ripped off bc of being a few minutes late is enough that I won't make the travel again.
Work needed
Great layout with many challenging holes, however the course has not been taken care of properly. The sand traps are now all simply hard dirt and the cart paths are in very bad condition.
Great time
Course is the right difficulty to provide an enjoyable challenge without being too frustrating. Course was in good shape and held up well to a big rain storm right before we teed off.
Holy Weed Control!
I've been playing Chapel for 15 years or better. 1st time playing this spring and I must say I'm really disappointed in the overall course conditions. Front nine greens were unbelievably firm while the back nine was complete opposite. Rough hasn't been mowed in at least 4 to 5 days. Way too many weeds on the course. Need to get someone who can weed eat everything! The only thing that made the round worth while was I only paid $20 to play. I love this course but there is absolutely no excuse why a number of certain maintenance practices were not being done.
Perfection!
Perfect! Perfect Day! Perfect course! Perfect condition! Perfect Food! Fast greens! Rolling hills! Beautiful scenery! We saw deer and huge squirrels. We had serene waters, rivers, creeks, ponds! Awesome! Well groomed!
Seven come 11.
Good stuff. A lot of variety in the hole types and difficulty, especially the par fours and fives. A signature hole on both the front and the back in number seven and number 11. I always make it a point to play here several times a year, especially enjoying their all day "all-inclusive" offer... A great value if you want to play 36 Plus holes in a day, including food beverage and range.
well taking care of
Really nice course first time using a GPS was great
A hiden gem and the best staff
Found this course from Golfnow.com and decided to try. One of the best courses in the great Columbus area with significant elevation changes and quite a few interesting holes. Love the condition of the course even though it was in late December. I am now wondering how nice it would be in Spring or Summer. Came the 2nd time a couple of days later. I was probably the only one played that entire day and the pro had to wait for me until 4:20PM. Very nice and accommodating. I cannot appreciate more. Highly recommended.

Great Price
I've played here several times over the years and the course is always in good condition. It's definitely worth the drive from Columbus!
The course is well balance
Love it. The staff was friendly and the course was demanding and forgiving ,dollar for dollar can't beat with Chapel Hill.
Great Course
Green were fast and true. Best conditions I ever played here.
Good Deal
Great Course at a Great price. Worth the drive from Columbus.
Very Nice Course
Well kept. Fairways could have been mowed tighter. Excellent elevation changes. Staff was helpful.
Enjoy this course
I enjoy playing this course even though it's a bit of a drive from Columbus. Good challenge, course is in great condition and friendly staff. They allow five-somes which is unusual but it did not impact our play.
.
The course was fully booked including a small outing which did slow down the pace in the first few holes but we picked up speed by the end of our first 9 and the second nine was on pace too. The course was in great shape and the staff was as friendly as ever. Really enjoy golfing there.
We are so very sorry that you had a bad experience at Chapel Hill. It is our goal to make everyone's round at Chapel one of there best rounds of the summer. So here that your experience was miserable means alot to us. It was our Ohio Fallen Heroes Weekend fundraiser to raise funds for the Memorial in Sunbury, and there was alot of activities going on that day. That is still no excuse for slow play. We always try to catch the bottlenecks before they happen, but we missed this one. Once again very sorry. and hope that we will see you again.
