Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Located just northeast of Columbus, Chapel Hill Golf Course has a central location that makes it easily accessible. Its affordable rates make it doubly appealing. The course was designed with players of all skill levels in mind with four sets of tees and some fairways that are open and others that are carved from the forests. The layout tumbles across rolling hills that provide interesting elevation changes and scenic views of the surrounding countryside. There are water hazards coming into play on seven holes. There are some notably challenging holes including the par-4 ninth, but the seventh and 11th are the golf course's signature holes. Built on the site of the former Mount Vernon Bible College, the old chapel now provides a unique clubhouse for the course.

Great value, well maintained
Played as a single, started at 6:45 a.m. Course is well kept and maintained. Greens are smooth and pretty fast. Course has a few blind shots and at least three short par fours on the back. Overall, has some challenging holes and is worth the drive and money.
Well Kept and Great Course for a great price
Second time I played this course this year. Both times was in excellent condition. Play was great and had a great time.
Second time we played the course
We had played this course about ten years ago and knew Golf Digest gave it good reviews. Decided to play a second time since we were in the area.
The course was in good shape except for the cart paths, but that didn't take away from the condition of the course. I love the layout, the fairways were in very good condition as were the greens. Some of the greens were extremely challenging to putt. Loved it
What I didn't care for was that we ran into two different fivesomes. One on the first tee in plain sight of the clubhouse. These guys were terrible so my wife and I decided to skip the first hole and go to the second.
After about four holes later we came upon a second fivesome. We waited until the turn and passed them as they stopped to get something to eat. They didn't look too happy but once we got around them we didn't see them again.
Advise to the clubhouse....don't put a twosome behind a fivesome.
Hills and more hills.
First time on this course. Interesting, hilly, wooded terrain. Good greens, friendly staff. Front nine tougher than back. Quite a few blind shots and tucked pins and elevation changes made the cart's excellent GPS very useful. Hour's drive from home but worth the trip.
I was impressed
We started on the back 9 and only got to play 9 holes due to rain so my review is based solely on that side. I was impressed with the condition of the course. Greens were smooth and fast but didn't hold like I thought they should. The design is challenging and has some short par 4s but you have to think about what you're doing. You can't just stand on the tee box and bang tee shots. I really enjoyed it and look forward to going back. I might add that this is not a course for walkers. Many elevation changes and distance between tees on several holes.
Amazing
Great course to play, GPS in carts is great to play with. Beautiful views and challenging greens make this a must play
always a beautiful course
although the course is always beautiful and challenging, i thought the tee boxes were very beat up with a lot of tall weed grasses where i wanted to tee off from
Improved greatly in the last few years.
Chapel Hill has always been a nice course, bu tthe grounds crew has definately stepped up their game over the last few years. We noticed a few permanent improvements since our last visit adn despite the very hot dry weather recently, the course was in amazing condition. Certainly worth another visit. We also learned that the course offers an all inclusive package that include food, snacks, and drinks and as much as you can golf in a day for less than the cost of 2 rounds booked online. An incredible value!
Great Father's Day!
I played with my two young boys. We played from the gold tees - so my assessment of the difficulty is skewed. The course if beautiful and well maintained. Putting was very true. Greens were very soft. Great day! We had some trouble with the GPS, but otherwise no issues at all.
Worth the Drive to Bangs
Chapel Hill literally has something for every sort of amateur golfer with plenty of tee choices, nice clubhouse, and a great use of its rolling topography.
We played in a mini-monsoon that did not overwhelm the course, but allowed us a break from slow Sunday golfers.
My favorite holes are #7 and #11 which demand accuracy on every shot. There are also a few breather holes and some inviting but treacherous short par 4s.
Thanks to the greenskeepers for their attention to detail.
Lots of hills and sometimes difficult to see flag although GPS helped a lot
Course was challenging with the hills and tall rough. Lost several balls!
Very nice course with excellent greens.
On a number of holes it appears crowded with greens, tee boxes in close proximity.
Well laid out, short drive from Columbus..
I passed 4 courses on way out to Chapel Hill. Worth it. Mostly wide fairways and challenging approaches. They have the GPS on the golf car and I found it to help with yardage on the second shots. I will return sooner than later.
Worth the trip
The course feels like it is in the middle of nowhere--but it is worth the trip. It is well maintained and has medium-fast greens--and a good variety of holes. Some are easy and some will eat you for lunch if you're not careful.
Chapel Hill
Great course. Beautifully manicured and picturesque views on multiple holes make this course one of my favorites. The staff is great and the pace of play is just fantastic.
well worth the money
great course shot drive from columbus very friendly staff
Very good course
It had been at least 10 years since I played there, but it didn't disappoint. A great layout, with lots of challenges, but not too intimidating. Conditions were good, considering the time of year, and I would definitely come back.
Nothing like spending Easter at church
Thoroughly enjoyable round, except when my driver went haywire for a while. First time at this place, and it was in great condition. Reason I marked it just short of excellent was because the bunkers had not been raked (were hard pan in places, at least places I landed in). But going up, across, down and around "Chapel Hill" was a test. I found the five holes on the other side of Johnstown Rd. to be the most intriguing. The par 5 No.14 and the par 4 No.15 were beautiful (except for the house across the river on 15). Played with son and his friend, and the pace was as we made it. Favorite part -- the greens. They rolled quick and true.
beautiful natural course
The scenery is very beautiful on this course. Early spring in north central Ohio. The course was a little squishy, but it has been very wet this spring. Still, with lift, clean and place, it was a nice day. Cart path only made it a little difficult to use the GPS on the cart effectively. All in all, it was a fun and challenging round. Unless you are in good shape I would not recommend trying to walk the hills on this course.
