Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Located just northeast of Columbus, Chapel Hill Golf Course has a central location that makes it easily accessible. Its affordable rates make it doubly appealing. The course was designed with players of all skill levels in mind with four sets of tees and some fairways that are open and others that are carved from the forests. The layout tumbles across rolling hills that provide interesting elevation changes and scenic views of the surrounding countryside. There are water hazards coming into play on seven holes. There are some notably challenging holes including the par-4 ninth, but the seventh and 11th are the golf course's signature holes. Built on the site of the former Mount Vernon Bible College, the old chapel now provides a unique clubhouse for the course.

Great bang for the buck!!
Dynamite value! Excellent pace of play, short 30 min drive from Westerville. Open off the tee, approachable fast greens. Lots of fun holes!
Wet
Nice layout over hilly terrain. Kind of surprised it was so wet for the amount of rain we have had lately - cart path only on many holes. Very unusual and kind of fun (not for walkers) that this course is spread out over 2 different pieces of real estate. Good value with the "Hot Buy".
What a great time
Buddy and I had a tee time early and was 28° And still let us out. Time we got done we was just getting warm up and decided to play 18 more. For 36 holes and food couldn't play some courses for that price. Had a great time and will be back to do it again in the future. Chapel Hill is a great courses to play and I would recommend it to anyone.
Great shape for February
Playing golf in central Ohio in February us a bonus! Playing a course that is in good shape and "mowed" greens is icing on cake.
Good job!
Great course
Staff is great and the course is always in great shape. We played in January and they were even cutting he greens! I try and play this course a few times a season even with a 40 min drive it's worth it.
Good course
I didn't finish 18, but only stopped at 6 due to have to go back work and too crowded people as everyone trying to play at the last sunny before the snow comes. Luckly I got the deal with only $14 for 18 holes so didnt lost much. But the course layout is good and the green was very nice! Will play again for sure.
Hilly Course With Some Difficult holes
Good elevation changes with a good mix of short and long holes. There are some good birdie holes and a few that you are happy to walk off with a par.
Chapel hill
The lay out if the course is good. Some tough holes and holes to score on. 9 and 18 are good finishing holes for each side. Course is a little Hilly, greens are always in good shape. I would recommend anyone who hasn't played it to play it.
Nice course but a bit hilly for me.
I enjoyed the course for the most part, however a motorcycle injury that shattered my pelvis makes hilly lies very difficult for me. The front nine is fairly hilly so it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Don't go long on approach shots on the front!! Green complexes will not let you get away with it. Had distance control issues on the front. Flew the green 4 times and failed to get up and down 4 times. Lipped out twice, but still, 4 bogies. A 245 yard par 3 on a public daily fee course is probably not a great idea in my opinion. Number 8. Maybe at the us open, but I personally think it's a bit much on a course like this.
That said, the back 9 isn't quite as hilly. It's shorter and easier as well. Lots of old growth trees. Very pretty. It also has One of the nicer par 5's you'll ever play.
I'd play the course again if it were closer to Columbus. It is interesting and scenic. Fairly difficult. Nice condition for the end of summer. Nice staff. It's just too far and a bit too hilly for me to play on a regular basis. 55 minutes from the west side of Columbus is too far for me unless I were in love with the place. If it were 20 minutes closer to the city it would be busy all the time.
Nice track
I really like a course that makes you think about the club you need to hit off the tee and the position of your ball for your approach shot, and this course has that in spades. While there are some blind shots and tight fairways on the rolling terrain, there is almost always a bailout area that leaves you a decent approach if you play smart. Grip 'n rippers, beware.
Pace was outstanding for the first 15 holes, which I played in about 2 hours as a single. Unfortunately there was a six-some of pre-teen girls lurking on the last 3 holes, which took me another hour and a half to play. So I completely lost my groove on three of the four hardest holes on the course, soiling what would've been a career round. Oh well, it was fun and I'll be back...hopefully the kids will be back in school.
ground crew
My only issue is there was ground crew watering the greens while we try to play. Not moving on approach shots or when the group was at the green. Not moving the equipment so the players can chip or putt on the green. This happened numerous times.
Great day!
Hadn't played course for over twenty years because of leaving the area, but was thoroughly impressed with it. Was worried about pace of play when I got there because it was packed, but played round in under 4 hours. Even played an extra 9.
Well worth the drive!
Beautiful & challenging course, friendly staff. It doesn't get any better!
Play from the back tees!!
There is a very long par 3 ranging out to 240 yards from the tips!!! A lot of elevation changes that make picking the correct club a little tricky. The club house has a great memorial for Ohio Veterans. Great layout with challenging par 5's that will challenge you with hazards and length. Would love to play again when it was not as muddy and earlier in the summer. Worth the two drive for me!
Pace of Play
Pace of play was slow due to what they called a Viking outing, playing the course at 8000 yards from all over, causing slow play and somewhat dangerous because of where they were playing from.
Pace of play
Had a 10:06 tee-time. Started on time but did not finish round until 2:55. That is just shy of 5 hours. They need to get a ranger out on golf course. On one hole there were 5 groups. Not a lot of fun !
Golf
The course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was good and the staff friendly. The course plays tough on some holes, but overall fair. The course is very picturesque, with creeks, rolling hills, water, and scenic terrain.
Thank you for playing Chapel Hill and we are glad that you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon.
Thanks
Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill is a pleasure to play. There are four extremely challenging holes (#'s 7, 9, 11, and 18) and the finishing holes on each side are the toughest I've ever encountered. The aesthetics of the course are pleasing to the eye. The greens are fast and true. The traps are playable and that is something most courses cannot say.
Thanks for playing Chapel Hill and yes your comments on holes 7, 11, 9 and 18 are RIGHT ON! Hope to see you again soon.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I hope you found the course in great shape. We are very sorry to hear that your round was so slow. We are discussing with our staff how we can make sure this won't happen again. Once again Thanks and hope to see you again.
