Good, but service is as bad as everywhere else
The days of customer service are over. Now you are a number and it is no different at Langley. The pro is no where to be found, ever. I am a member and regret being a member because there are no free or even discounted range balls, cart fees are paid in full every time, and the pro is, like I said, no where to be found. The staff is lackluster at best and unjustifiably arrogant. When my contract is up and my game is where I want it to be I will be done using this sad excuse for a membership and will return to Nansemond River or Riverfront.. Only become a member here if you want to play behind hack-a-maniacs and have ZERO marshal presence. Oh, and the carts have to be in by 7pm...REALLY?! ...because the pro is NEVER around the staff do what they want. The other day I was on the chipping area and saw the employees (counter guy, cart washer etc) teeing it up at number one tee at about 7:55pm. No wonder they want the carts back by 7pm...so they can get in a round after the paying customer has to turn their cart in. If you plan on playing during the week so the hackers and lack of marshal and the early cart return don't drive you insane, your just fooling yourself because the hackers, early cart return and lack of marshal are replaced with a grounds crew that couldn't care less about the fact that you are trying to play a round of golf that you paid for. They will zig-zag, wander, and make noise in your back swing the whole round. No leadership, that is the moral to the story of this course. The PGA "pro" here is collecting a paycheck and letting this place run itself into the ground.
Good value for the money.
Well maintained course from tee to green. Generous fairways; greens open in front permitting bump and runs; great sand in superbly placed bunkers. Best value for the money in the Tidewater area.
Great practice area includes: driving range with many targets, three pitching/chipping greens, and a putting green.
Getting on the base requires military ID or traveling with a person who has a military ID.
