Not As Good Ss ItOnce Was But Still Worth Playing
3 really good nines though course apoears to be getting a little rough around the edges. None of the bunkers have any real sand and most are unplayable. Bounce bunkers that used to be a hallmark of the course ate now eye sores. Still, overall one of the better courses in the area for conditions, layout and staff friendliness. Definitely worth a visit and I'll be back.
Cut greens, please
Cut and roll the greens and charge $20 more, I'll support you. A lot of fun playing it until you reach the green, all fun stops... Otherwise, wonderful layout, great views, waterfall green, etc. Only because of the greens, the round was NOT really enjoyable.
Meadow Farms
Great staff, great course and very challenging.
The waterfall par 3 is a treat!
Need to return to elite
The greens are Horrible!
Fairways are shaky at best.
Used to be one of favorite courses, they need lots of work…
Fun Time at Meadow Farms
The 3 nines offer unique course features you won't find at most courses. Depending on the '9' you play you will find some fun challenges be it the Waterfall hole or the Longest. We played the Waterfall and Island courses. Expect a lot of terrain and a fair amount of water. Otherwise its pretty wide open.
Overpriced bring back twighlight
A bit over priced with green conditions and how slow pace of play was. Overbooked and no carts available.
Was good in the past
Thick, heavy uncut rough
Fuzzy tough to putt greens
Deteriorating tee boxes
Horrible unkept traps
New management mostly concerned with your money and not your experience. Previous management group was much more personable.
Good time
Overall course in good shape greens ran true though pin placement on some holes ridiculous. Only big issue NO water coolers on course I will definitely play again
Disappointed
When I booked for all 3 nines I asked if the tournament would be a problem and was told no. When I got there today again told no problem. Then when time to play last nine was told could not play longest hole because of a different tournament. Was told could play one of the others again or refund. Told ranger he had said at the beginning and at turn it would not be a problem. He said again play others of refund. I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone this multiple times then this happens. Course was in good shape and staff other than this were very nice. Would play again and recommend but would be cautious and warn others.
Awful Conditions
We played yesterday morning and I have to say that the course has really gone downhill, since this spring.
Most tee boxes are full of bare spots and dead grass, most greens have many patches of what looks like black, bare soil (maybe mold?) and little to no grass, land almost all greens have poor aprons. The fairways are in very good shape, as in the past.
I'm not sure what's happened to the superintendent or the maintenance budget, but you'd expect a lot more from a course owned by a nursery chain. I really hope they get it together soon, because when it's in good shape, this is one of the best values in central Virginia.
We decided not to go again until next Spring.
Trying to figure out how this course is rated 4 stars. Fun layout, but the greens were atrocious today. Greens were nice a month or so ago; but very bad today.
