About
The Gauntlet is situated along the banks of the lake that is the centerpiece of Curtis Memorial Park. When it first opened in 1995, Golf Digest recognized it as one of the "top ten new courses to play in the U.S." This challenging layout will definitely test your shot making abilities. The golf course begins with a tough front nine that has several sharp doglegs over water and tall grasses. There are also a slew of blind shots. The back nine is a bit gentler since there's less water and it is more open and forgiving, but the large, multi-tiered greens can be tricky. The fourth hole is the golf course's signature. Your tee shot will have to carry a marsh to a narrow landing area on this par 5. After that, you'll be faced with a triple-tiered green with the lake to the left and bunkers to the right.

Another hidden gem!
Played during winter conditions and the course was in excellent shape. Greens were a little slow but rolling well. Fairways in good shape as well.
Poor greens and tee boxes
Generally I love this course due to its challenging layout. However, this course is currently in very rough shape. I’m sure it will bounce back but especially what they are charging currently, I would not reccomend.
Nicectrack
Very nice out of the way layout along the river. It's a ball eater so bring plenty of bullets. Would play again. Lots of blind shots.

Greens were atrocious for this time of year. Inconsistent and it appeared the holes hadn’t been cut for close to a week. Fairways and Tee boxes were pretty good but the greens have major issues so making outs was more luck and less skill.
Overall good condition
Overall the course is in good shape. The gauntlet is a tough golf course. Dropped an eagle on 10. Had a very good time.

The pace of play was horrible it took 2.5 hours to play 8.5 holes. No one to encourage or insist that players play at pace. The layout was nice and the setting I believe around Lake Curtis was nice. It is a local municipality course and in fair to good condition. As with most small area course that are municipal somehow how Members(??? its a muni) think they own the course, and even had a person walk up to me and check my tee time (Had to tell him to chase himself in so many words). I spoke to a guy that said it is always like this.
I would not recommend this course to anyone except Members (ITS a freaking Muni)
Sorry to write this but a horrible experience.
Challenging but fair
Keep your drives in fairways. It had rained a few days prior. Traps were muddy. Tee boxes need grass trimmed. Faiways wet at spots otherwise good. Greens in good shape but slow. I can see the course's full potential as these conditions inprove
