Ole Monterey Golf Club

To call this a "goat track" would be detrimental to goats...At $52.00/person with no ranges and a putting green smaller than some family living rooms, this was a major disappointment. It's safe to say, I have played this course twice on Saturday, my first and last times ever...Too many really nice courses (i.e. Blue Hill and Auburn Hills) in the area to choose from... Can't find anything nice to say, I've seen better front lawns than the fairways, awful greens that had little or no smooth surface that putting was an adventure...Stay away...

This was my first time playing the course this year. More cutting the grass is needed and looked in progress. Also the pathways need repair.

Overgrown pasture. No actual fairway, couldn’t distinguish between first cut of rough and what I assume were supposed to be fairways. Off the tee, you could lose a drive in the “fairway.” Greens were the only good thing about the course and round. Green side bunkers are overgrown waste bunkers, rakes were unnecessary. I had played this course in the past and it was much better. Not sure what’s going on. If you’re a high handicap and just looking for a place to whack golf balls, try here. Buyer beware.

There are no fairways. The course is in complete disarray. They haven’t mowed. There is no reason why this course should be $50+ dollars. The greens are terrible. The roughs are only roughs because it’s not been mowed. The fairways have crab grass all over the course. I tried to get tee times at other courses but was unfortunately not able to do so, but if I had I would have Never finished my round here. The absolute Worst golf course I’ve ever played on. This is a $30 course at best for 18 holes.

This place has gone down hill. Grass growing in the bunkers with hardly any sand in them. You could loose your ball in the fairway because the grass was so high. Not much grass on the tee boxes. It even had dandelions growing on the greens. This place is way over priced for the conditions of the course. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Untrimmed everything. Dirt tee boxes. Not worth it

Nice couse.

Next time 18 holes!

This couse was comparable to some of the best public golf courses here in NJ

Has been in good condition In the past but is terrible right now. Making people ride in carts, not allowing walking b4 2:00 during this virus scare!? Nice social responsibility! Unconscionable!

Great course, fun to play. Challenging but not too difficult for average golfers . Course in good shape & will be even better as spring allows grass to grow more . Reccomend for everyone.

The staff was great. The course conditions were terrible. I wouldn’t play this again, or recommend this to anyone even if it was free.

It looks like a cow pasture and you won’t ever have a good lie.

Don’t even get me started on the tee boxes. Good luck finding grass on a majority of them. So bad.

I've played Ole Monterey many times. It's been a few years since I played it. So I took a friend who hadn't played it before with me. I was embarrassed that I did. The green were in very poor condition and had cancer spots all over. Very bumpy and forget about a straight putt. The cart path was horrible, root speed bumps, potholes, and broken edges. Would have been better to just drive the grass. Bridges over creek collapsed in. Ball wash handles broken off, no towels. Fairways dying and bumpy. Not worth the 37.50 to play this course even in winter compared to others in the area with lush greens and tee boxes. Monterey crews may wanna look over the fence and see how it is done at the course next door. And cheaper rates! Invest some time and money and bring Ole Monterey back to a quality course Please. Thanks

Conditions were great considering the time of year. Had a great time.

Had not been to course in about 10 years (I live over 50 miles away) but found it to be in better shape than I remembered. Will be back again much sooner.

Greens in good shape .. held pretty well. Cart path a little rough :0) Some of the par 4's are a little longer than a few of the other local courses. Fun course design. Sure, I'll be back.

Fairway grass was kind of funky, but the greens were great!

Long and wide, this is the place for the long hitter. There is room in case your accuracy is less than perfect. Fairways and roughs are thick grass.

I played here on 7/16 and the course was in AWFUL condition. Fairways and greens in horrible condition. Got sprayed down by the sprinklers due to lack-luster maintenance crew. Golf cart barely worked and was seemingly falling apart. On top of all of that, I paid for an afternoon rate that was more expensive than the surrounding courses in the area (all of which far surpass the quality of this course)! Frankly, I will never play here again, nor will I tell anyone I know to play here.

Fairways were in bad shape and the rough was super thick. Greens were in decent shape but that’s only high point. Going to stick with Blue Hills and Hanging Rock until they get the course in shape
