Hobbs Hole Golf Course

Took my son here. I've only played this course once before. The fairways & greens were in good shape. Several of the bunkers were bad shape. Overall, we had a good round. We'll be back.

Pace of play a bit slow. Enjoyed the course and will play it again next time we are in the area.

The course was in great condition and the weather couldn't have been better. There was a Father/Son tournament that went out in front of us but they kept moving along at a good pace.

There were five sets of tees that let any player have a distance off the tee that is comfortable and still make the holes difficult but not overly challenging.

Greens were a bit firm and not very receptive but once we adjusted for that it made the round much more enjoyable.

The course was in awesome condition. The people where very accommodating. I loved playing this course and I would recommend for anyone to go and play.

Great course for midweek, midday play. Not busy, friendly staff, good facilities. Perfect for small town. Recommend highly.

We liked the course. It was a bit dry ( it's August) but in overall good condition. Don't expect it to be "manicured" but the terrain makes up for that. A few greens had a bare spot or two but nothing that influenced roll too much. We enjoyed it on a perfect Virginia Day.

Great pace of play, - 18 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes. (Twosome) Very friendly staff - Head Pro always helpful. Fairways in great shape as well as greens.

Interesting and friendly experience. The staff and members we passed by were all very welcoming. Course was in excellent condition and some holes were challenging.
Well worth the 90 minute drive from Norfolk and we will be back.

The course is always in top-notch condition. Staff is very friendly and check in is always quick. If you play on the weekends I recommend getting a tee time before 0800. There is no marshal out and about so slow players will hold you up after 0800.

Me and a friend played as a twosome and had a real good time. We played winter rules and the course was in good shape for February. Hope to get another round in soon at Hobbs Hole

Great course for the price. Nice greens and open layout. Food was also excellent!

Played 27 holes on a very hot September day. Course was in very good condition except for the greens [aerated earlier that week]. They were super soft and bumpy but should recover in about two weeks. Normally they are moderate-hard and moderately fast. Not the case this time as they were quite slow. Still a good value.

Hobbs Hole is in excellent condition. The course is not overly difficult, but still offers plenty of challenges.

I really like this course. Challenging, but fair with a nice mix of holes. Excellent greens, and overall very good from tee to green. Homes come into play on 10, 11 and 18, but even then only a very errant shot will be a problem. It's nice to be out there when it's just you and the course. Try it when you can - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Hobbs Hole is in really great shape this year. The greens were excellent and the course was in great shape. It was a warm day so we nearly had the course to ourselves. Always a great value playing here.

I play here whenever I get the chance the course is always in great condition and well worth the price.

We waited on every hole. The local guys play in 5's and 6's . That and no grass is enough to keep me from returning. We had a tee time but it did not matter it was get loaded up and go wait in line.
The bathrooms and the lunch room were closed as they had installed new carpet. Overall disappointing trip.

Staff extremely Professional! Was not crowded so play moved well.

First time playing this course with me and my buddy. It was a pleasant surprise. Given the time of year, the course had not begun to bear fruit (greens wise) - but I could tell by the layout and the condition of the greens that come spring through fall, this course will be bordering on awesome. I loved the undulations present around most of the course - gave one a slight feeling of links with the golden hue of the dormant grass. The challenges were plenty but not too wicked for the novice (me). My golf balls are water magnets so I made my typical donation and homage to the off spring of Poseidon. Anyway, digression aside, this was a fun experience and a nice blend of value and quality. The Bald Eagle on the back 9 was a treat!
