Hobbs Hole Golf Course

Winter conditions and grass was dormant when we played. But overall a fun and challenging course. Worth the money for the "Hot Deal" but probably wouldn't pay more than that during the winter months.

First time playing the course and was able to grab a hot deal for an 11:00 AM tee time. The pro shop was well stocked and staff was very friendly. We stopped by pro shop at the turn and were asked how we were enjoying our round and given a brief overview of the pro shop for snacks and where to go for additional food items.

The course has a nice layout with a good mixture of holes. We liked the varying lengths for the par 3's.

Staff is always great, food is excellent and the course conditions were very good, especially for this time of year.

Never played here because for me it was a little out of the way. A friend convinced me to give it a try so I played Hobbs Hole for the 1st time in early October. Didn't expect much and I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it enough to come back 3 weeks later. Layout was not exceptionally challenging but fair and the greens were in WONDERFUL condition. Would definitely play again!

Nice course set out in the country side. Driving range needs some work, putting green was nice and staff friendly. First hole par 5 at 500+yards to second hole par 3 of 110-120 yards. Thought the course was nice and layout was good. Most fairways wide open. Couple greens showed some bad patches but most of them were nice. Ball rolled a little inconsistent on greens. Some greens faster than others but they all broke true. Used all clubs in the bag during the round. A ton of twosomes on the course that day. Beverage cart prices were excellent.

Well maintained (from practice green and range through #18). Fairly forgiving with risk / reward opportunities for errant shots. Very nice pro shop, pro is most helpful, nice restaurant, carts excellent -all in all shows a lot of caring about the course and customers. Not as fancy as some high-dollar venues; but many of us prefer the down-home approach.

Took my son here. I've only played this course once before. The fairways & greens were in good shape. Several of the bunkers were bad shape. Overall, we had a good round. We'll be back.

Pace of play a bit slow. Enjoyed the course and will play it again next time we are in the area.

The course was in great condition and the weather couldn't have been better. There was a Father/Son tournament that went out in front of us but they kept moving along at a good pace.

There were five sets of tees that let any player have a distance off the tee that is comfortable and still make the holes difficult but not overly challenging.

Greens were a bit firm and not very receptive but once we adjusted for that it made the round much more enjoyable.

The course was in awesome condition. The people where very accommodating. I loved playing this course and I would recommend for anyone to go and play.

Great course for midweek, midday play. Not busy, friendly staff, good facilities. Perfect for small town. Recommend highly.

We liked the course. It was a bit dry ( it's August) but in overall good condition. Don't expect it to be "manicured" but the terrain makes up for that. A few greens had a bare spot or two but nothing that influenced roll too much. We enjoyed it on a perfect Virginia Day.

Great pace of play, - 18 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes. (Twosome) Very friendly staff - Head Pro always helpful. Fairways in great shape as well as greens.

Interesting and friendly experience. The staff and members we passed by were all very welcoming. Course was in excellent condition and some holes were challenging.
Well worth the 90 minute drive from Norfolk and we will be back.

The course is always in top-notch condition. Staff is very friendly and check in is always quick. If you play on the weekends I recommend getting a tee time before 0800. There is no marshal out and about so slow players will hold you up after 0800.

Me and a friend played as a twosome and had a real good time. We played winter rules and the course was in good shape for February. Hope to get another round in soon at Hobbs Hole
