Improved course
The course was in great shape even though it had rained earlier. I had not played the course in a couple of years. The improvements were obvious. The fairways were not spongy, the greens firm and true. Even the cart paths were in better shape. Great job to the groundscre.
Nice day at Auburn
Plenty of rain in the morning, but when we teed off at 11:30, it had cleared up. Still fully cloudy all day, but no rain. They had just punched and sanded the greens within the past week, so there's that. The sanding was inconsistent. The course was in pretty good shape considering the dry summer. Well done Auburn. A nice pace - neither pushed nor held up.
Beautiful yet challenging course
First time on this course and really enjoyed the layout. Other than the work being done on 2 the course was challenging at times with a steep uphill and a towering down hill. Good amount of water to navigate. I will be back to play here in the future.
Late Morning Tee Time
Course was in good shape, with a couple holes having some maintence work being done. Overall had a great round and enjoyed lunch at The Bogey when done.
Nice course
Seattle area has been in a severe drought for the last 6 months but the course is in great condition, unlike other courses in the area which are really dried out. Greens are really nice and true (and fast). The only downside to this course is they don't have a driving range to practice at. They do have a net to hit into to warm up, but it's not the same as hitting a bucket of balls.
This course is great
The course is in great shape, greens are consistent, and for the dry weather we have had there is very few dry spots. I played on a Friday afternoon and the pace of play was slow, but overall it is was a great value. If you have time I tecend the restaurant, great food and friendly staff.
Five Players
The pace of play was terrible. At one point we had four groups on the same hole; hole number nine. I stopped playing at that time and left the course. One group ahead of me had five player. This was my first and last playing here.
Great course!
Our 1st time playing here. Great front nine, even better back nine. Played from the blues and shot 75. Red tees for my wife were a good challenge for her.
Course had some dry spots and maintainance going on but didn't bother our play. Saw the beverage girl several times, Bogey's was great for drinks & food after play.
Good Golf Course
Haven't golf that course for over ten years because it took too long and slow play.
Yesterday was very nice, still had another group that was slow but got in 18 holes in just over 4 1/2 hours. Will play again.
Been There Done That
Auburn is a friendly course that everyone seems to get along. We were allowed to go off early and paired up with two singles. We only had slight hesitations twice and actually finished our rounds in 4hr and 15 minutes. Some gimmicky holes which can influence scores. If you smack it down the middle you will score well. Good to user a cart as there are some ups and downs on the holes, which can take their toll if you are not in shape. Most of the holes are fairly level tho.
I am a high handicapper golfer, but, I was not totally overwhelmed here. I guess that is a good thing. Service in the restaurant was rather slow. Four people working the deck, with only five table occupied, I'm thinking the hang-up might have been in the kitchen. From check-in to a finish on the deck, EVERYONE was very friendly. (Even on the course, the lawn mowers were very aware of our presence and shut down to let us play thru in peace.)
Excellent Value
This course was worth the money for sure. I would go back again.
Good course
Great pace, 18 holes in 3 hours, 50 min. Extremely well maintained and a bargain at the price. Will certainly be back.
Plan on the whole day
We arrived 25 minutes early and got out on time. The course was in good condition for the drought. Started at 2:10 PM and finished 7:45. 5 1/2 hours to play a round is ridiculous. No marshall in site with the 3 groups in front of us. There was no water anywhere on course and the cart girl only came by once in 5 hours. Players did not fix ball marks and no sand bottles to repair fairways.Kids at the 19th hole were playing on the 18th hole green with no supervision
So-So
Pace of play was brutal. 6 hours is unacceptable for 18. Only time I saw a Marshall was when he asked to play thru on 7
Easy and open with great greens
Auburn is a short, straight, and open course. It is also quite short from the whites ~6000. The tees, greens, and fairways were in great shape. The greens were a great color and rolled very true. This is a great course to work on your iron game.
Nice Golf Course
Front 9 more of a links course; back 9 more interesting with doglegs and elevation and water; overall a very nice mix of holes; signature hole on the back 9 is very good.
Great golf day
I was a single. Got paired up with 2 guys from Alki Bakery Co. Ken and Kyle were great to play with. We all had a lot of fun. The course was in great shape.
Fantastic Greens!!
Greens were in great shape! New carts are a nice touch. Food at the turn took too long though.
Great Course
Beautiful, well groomed golf course. reasonably contoured, smooth greens, very nice fairways with moderate rough and lots of towering firs. Beware, though, that those same trees deflect a lot of balls and play havoc with any errant shots. May be crowded, aka SLOW, on nice summery weekends but that's the price for having such a fun, challenging course.
Hot and dry
Course played great for a long hot streak of weather. Pin placement was tough but the greens are in great shape
