Excellent local course
Excellent local course, well-maintained and it is well managed. The course Marshal was personable, gracious, and fair. The restaurant and bar are outstanding. The only drawback is that there is no driving range.
Not bad for April
For $17.00 with cart you can't beat the deal. I declined the cart as I prefer to walk but that is still a great price. The course was in pretty good shape for early April. Usually it's still a bit soggy. The greens still showed signs from aeration but were not too bumpy. Overall a decent value.
A Day with my Grabdson
The 11:14 t-time was perfect. We had no pressure on the course and no slow g downs ahead. Game went very guick. Over all we had a wonderful day of golf. Love the course...
Good Course
Great course for the price I paid. Will play again for sure. The pace was steady up until the 15 hole, but of a wait but not bad at all! It was a good time
Auburn is still as slow as ever
We played in a Friday morning and the course was still packed full of people with tee times that are to close together. We waited on every single tee box and after every shot. We saw fivesomes and even a group of 6 playing in front of us. There was a cart girl out there, but we didn't see her until the 14th hole and the restaurant was closed for a remodel, so there was no where to buy anything to eat or drink. The marshals putted around but never asked anyone to pick up their pace of play. Basically, it was just Auburn living up to its reputation.
Course just aerated no notification
Course just aerated no notification. What else can be said for a wasted round. Glad it only too 3 h 15 min.
A first time at a course to warm up my game
Overall I was glad I made the drive to play. I booked as a single assuming I would be matched up with another 2- or 3-some, but this did not happen. All greens were sanded to get them ready for "the season." I wasn't aware of this before I registered, but understand the need to do so. No driving range and the "driving box / net" was not very helpful and a bit muddy, so I just hit 3 balls. Snacks were coffee and some packaged foods & muffins. Biggest irritant was with the pro shop staff, who (otherwise quite friendly) repeatedly took phone calls (answered and made me wait) while we were in the middle of dealing with my payment process. I think this is inappropriate if staff is already dealing with a customer. In other words, answer the phone by all means, but ask the caller to wait because you're dealing with a customer.
Auburn
Great course, live generally speaking fairly close. Would consider making Auburn my home course. I play here once a month. Although greens were plugged, still rolled fairly true. Will be awesome in a month or so. Love this course. Staff is awesome. Staff was awesome.
great greens!
Course was in great shape for this early in the season. Surprisingly! Restaurant was closed though, which was a bummer.... :( And it sure seemed like the course Marshall didn't have anything better to do except practice golf on empty greens, and follow us around quite a bit. But it was nice playing there overall. We'll come back.
Nice course
Nice course, bad thing was no restruant, no driving range. Other than that course was in good shape and staff was great
Played before and will play again
I have played here a number of times and before the course was revamped it wasn't a good course now it plays like a new course.
When the restaurant/lounge gets open will be better.
Snails pace
The restaurant has been shut down, the GC has no liquor license which meant no beer and no beverage cart. The course was over 30 minutes behind tee time schedule. First 9 holes took 3 hours (over 3.5hrs from actual scheduled tee time). We paid for 18 holes, but left after 9 due to the horrific pace of play.
February Golf
The weather was perfect for a golf day in February. The course was in good shape with a few damp spots here and there. The pace of play was o.k. for a Sunday afternoon and we finished in 4 1/2 hours. I would recommend this course to just about anyone. It has enough good holes to keep things interesting. The only drawback was the restauraunt was closed.
Very Nice!
Conditions very good considering heavy recent rains.Staff very friendly and impressive views combined with excellently maintained greens.
Soggy
Still a great value and good course, but it's incredibly soggy right now, more so than I remember years past. Some parts are virtually unplayable they're so muddy and soft.
offseason doesn't have to be this bad
booked as a single via GolfNow, but I was paired up with a different group to go out on time because the threesome I was on the sheet with showed up as a four-some, and five minutes late. On the bright-side, they were complete knuckleheads and were putting out on 16 when we walked off 18. Restaurant closed, fairways and rough were muddiest I've seen all Winter.
Great value for the money.
Really wet day but overall had a great experience. Will be back during the summer for sure!
excellent especially of the time of the year
Restaurant was changing hands so it was closed. Sounds like long horn barbecue is taking over so that is a definite plus
Fun even in the rain
Great coarse!!!! I've only been golfing just over a year and I like to play this coarse because it has it all. I did manage two birdies in the rain :) GO HAWKS!!! GET LOUD 12'S ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!
no hot food
when we were there, the restaurant was closed down. so we ate chips, and candy. wish I would have known, I would have brought something, our went to another course.
