I like the course but play was too slow. I paid for 18 holes but had to quite after nine because of slow pace of play.

I had to quite after nine holes because the pace of play was too slow and there was no marshal to speed up play. Should be able to get around the course in 4 hours. I would like to get refunded of a rain check for the nine I did not get to play.

Great Round of golf for this price.

Auburn is a well kept public golf course with a decent lay out. Though i would never pay their normal green fees they charge but finding this deal it was well worth it.

The course has some fun challenges.

I enjoy playing this course. It's not just a flat back and forth course. There's a serious uphill hole. It's fun to send the ball flying off the tee back down the hill. There's a few water hazards to challenge you. You'll find a warm up area for putts and chips (pre-game). I didn't see or find any range area to warm up with your driver.

Awesome greens!

Even though wet in the fairways, the greens were both receptive and fast and true as evidenced by my 1 putting 12 holes and only taking 24 putts in the round. I had an enjoyable time even with the ball plugging in the wet ground.

Slowest round of golf ever

I've played Auburn a lot but rarely on weekends. Saturday's round was the slowest I've ever played. It took us 5 hours to finish 15 holes and our group called it a day as the 16th tee was completely backed up (like every other hole).

Auburn,
Please get the lead out.

Very wet. Slow play.

After heavy rains for a week, don't expect the course would be any good. Cart on car path only made the play very slow. Walking may not be easy for someone because of hills on some holes. Some players did not know how to play golf on soaking condition making the play even slower. Drainage can be improved. I will play somewhere else next time when the week is very wet. I would recommend this course to friend ONLY when the weather is NOT very WET.

OK for this time of year but.........

Pros: Greens have not yet been aerated and were in good condition. The newer fairways were generally dry enough.

Cons: Most balls hit off fairways plugged and almost impossible to find. First 4 fairways very soggy and plugged balls. Pace of play very slow for weekday, morning golf.

I love this Course

This is a great course, not too difficult, but some holes are challenging. The staff are awesome and very friendly. They have a, " If you need help, its no problem attitude". And that makes a very pleasing environment to be in. Me being on this course is very fun and peaceful.

Mostly good

We got placed behind a tournament and were waiting at every tee box and on every fairway. Great course though, definitely a place I would go back to.

A good local course

I live in the area and I use Golf Now as often as possible. Auburn had a great deal that included a cart and they had not punched their greens yet (it is that time of year here). The course was in good shape and the greens were also nice. We tee'd off at 8:30 and pace of play was great. Auburn is a great local track that gets a lot of play in the summer. It will get wet and soft in the rainy season. (not a good winter course).

Front and Back Contrast

This is a well-maintained municipal course. The front is on the valley floor and is flat with trees bordering the fairways. There are some bare spots on the flats. The back goes uphill at the 11th hole and after coming back down on the 15th, has some scenic and challenging water carries. Greens are large and in very good shape.

This course has mature features that offer challenges.

Auburn golf course is a great local track. It has matured over the years and offers great challenge, especially for those not hitting straight from the tee. The golf course has some nice improvements made over the past 10 years or so. All of the greens were in nice shape, offering some good challenge as well. I enjoy this golf course.

Very slow play

I have played this course many times but the pace of play was very slow and who ever allowed 3 sets of 2 players to play back to back and then on No 14, a par 3, the cart girl stopped the twosome in front of us in the middle of the hole for at leas 3-5 minutes while the group behind us caught up. I saw the marshal a few times but he never came by so we could express our displeasure. Management should be aware of this slow pace of play.
