Camaloch Golf Club
About
Camaloch Golf Course is located within the Puget Sound "Sun Belt," which receives only half of the nearby rainfall of nearby courses. Its location on Camano Island also puts it at an advantage during the summer months when the temperatures rise up to the 90s on the mainland, the golf course stays cool thanks to the coastal breezes. The course first opened with nine holes in 1972 and expanded to an 18-hole course in 1991. Known for its smooth and consistent greens, Camaloch G.C. has long been a local favorite. The layout starts with a gentler front nine that features wide fairways and fewer hazards. The back nine becomes much more difficult with several holes that play over water. Camaloch Golf Course's undulating greens putt fast and true, and they are often accompanied by strategically placed bunkers.

worth playing again!
Definitely worth going again. It is quite a challenge and a complete surprise! Never would've guessed it but really glad we found it!
Nice round
First time out there. Course played well. The greens were excellent & challenging. I liked the grass off the greens, very easy to chip from. The club house food looked great & they had many beers on tap. Looking forward to playing here again.
Unorganized and chaotic
Showed up and was told they didn't have a cart available due to a tournament earlier in the day even though I prepaid for one on-line. I was told that If I wanted a cart I would have to wait until after 2:00 and there was a waiting list of 7 groups requesting carts before me. We cancelled through Golf Now didn't play and will never go back again
Nice, but holes are a little tight together
Mostly flat with very nice greens. Some narrow fairways and some interesting holes.
Excellent greens!!!
First time there and was very impressed. Course was in great shape and staff in new restaurant great. The bunkers had real sand, not the usual gray sludge in many NW courses.
Great overall course
I absolutely love playing this course. I feel it's quite a good value for the money. Accessible for all skill levels, but has some unique holes that make you stop and think before hitting. Well-maintained, though downhill putts seem to roll slower than you would think. Friendly staff across the board, from the pro shop to the newly-opened restaurant, The Rockaway Bar and Grill. Plus its always scenic driving out to Camano Island. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you give Camaloch a try.
Slow Play
Course was in the best condition I have ever seen. Unfortunately no one enjoys a round exceeding 5 hours except the inconsiderate golfers holding up play. The indifference of the Pro once they have your money is apparent with no marshall on the Course.
Opinion of the course
Another wonderful golf round on beautiful sunny Camano Island
Great value
Great course and value. Grounds were beautifully kept.
Some of the best greens around for the price and location.
I always enjoy spending a day with friends on this course to get away from work and other distractions. The round will begin with a long dogleg left hole, but can make a super start to the game.
crowded. no restaurant
No restaurant = no food, no notice anywhere until we were there. Remodeling. I would have prepared differently if I knew.
My Day at Camaloch
Course was fairly dry except for some fairways but still was not slushy or overly muddy considering the recent record-breaking rainfall. (Great not to have mud all over my pant legs!). There was a touch of wind that was significant for some shots. Green conditions were dry and excellent; also the greens were very challenging to read. This is the first time I played an 18-hole round here. Players must drive the ball well in order to score as the rough is very thick and heavy because of the rainfall, and some fairways are quite narrow. Thoroughly enjoyed my round, and I drove over an hour to get there. Looking forward to my next opportunity to play this course..
cours review
Great vaule. Course was still pretty soggy from recent rains. Lots of balls getting plugged in the middle of the fairways. Tee boxes had not been moved in a few days, they were semi beat up.
Fairways need to be mowed. Greens were in excellant condition.
enjoyable course, weather wasn't what I had expected
I have to start by saying that I'm new to golf, and don't usually go if it's not also going to be a beautiful day, so I was a little disappointed in the forecast being wrong, and it started drizzling about 10 minutes before my round began. Having the cart to keep the rain off was nice, but playing with my jacket on, to stay dry while swinging was a hindrance. That's Spring golf in Washington. The fairways were soggy in a couple of places for the same reason.
Overall, very well maintained course, and friendly staff, I can't wait to try it in a month or two, and hope the grill is open by then too. Great value, and I would definitely recommend Camaloch.
great greens
some of the best greens in the state. short course that plays long in the winter.
Nice course, but drainage is an issue
I really enjoyed the course. It's a quality design that's moderately challenging with some very good holes. The biggest issue was the drainage. I rode as it was sprinkling, and there had been a fair amount of rain the day before, but I couldn't help but do horrible damage to the turf just walking to my shots. I lost 3 balls on tee shots that plugged in a fairway or near a green.
The back 9 was drier and it's the better side if you are only playing 9. The greens were very healthy and rolled well, but I can't recommend this place during the winter.
Great value!
It was a bit wet from the early rain but the course was great.
A great value!
Camaloch G.C. is well worth the trip from Seattle. The course is VERY well maintained. Hats of to the course staff! The greens are really well kept, and even though it was raining when we started, they remained fast and true. A truly rewarding golf experience, there are many interesting, challenging holes. Had a burger afterwards, and my buddies had various sandwich's, all good! Definitely will return.
